Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

I did rset and reinstalled the CF. This worked and I was able to download all the webif packages. So, it's sorted out. I still can't play recorded proprammes on my laptop despite having VLC add-on in Firefox and VLC active-x in Internet Explorer but I couldn't do that any way - so never mind...

OK. Port stays at 23. I'll try again tomorrow and report back. Thanks.

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

OK. I ran the "general" diagnostic from telnet and everything passed. I then selected 1 and the HDR went into Maintenance Mode. I waited until Maintenance Mode showed on the front panel. The video had frozen at this point but I could still hear the audio. I closed the PuTTY console and opened it...

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

When you say "It really can't be this hard, can it???" you have to remember that I don't know what "it" actually is.

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit. I have downloaded an installed SSH-PuTTY. I ran this and telnetted into the HDR Fox T2. PuTTY is giving me an 8-choice menu. I have selected "Run a diagnostic". PuTTY is now asking me which one? This is fair question. I haven't got a clue. Can someone help...

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

Can't do it Black Hole. I get basically the same error message focussing on "Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable." However I did manage to delete webif altogether. If I go to the ip number for the web page I can see the message that says that the custom firmware...

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

Well, if I go to "Package Management", click the "Upgrades" tab, go to the webif package and click the upgrade button I do eventually get an error message, below. It seems to be telling me to run 'opkg update'. How do I do that? Thanks. >>> opkg upgrade webif Upgrading webif on root from...

Could not lock /tmp/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

Hi, I just ugraded to 1.03.12_mod_3.03 on my HDR Fox T2. Seemed to go ok. I got reboot loops when I turned back on so I ran the System Flush Update file. This solved the problem and everything seemed to work OK. Portal works fine and I can get iPlayer. I decided to upgrade the Webif and got the...

Playing the .TS files directly from the Humax via a PC

Any idea how I go about changing the DLNA IP address or is this set automatically? My network uses fixed IPs. Also, is it necessary to have the VLC add-on installed in the browser? I don't know what "the DLNA server" actually is. Thanks for any suggestions.

Playing the .TS files directly from the Humax via a PC

I use Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS 32bit with Firefox 28 and Windows7 64bit with IE11 on separate PCs. I get the same result on both systems. Both systems have VLC installed. Not sure if they both have the VLC add-on too. The recorded BBC 2 programmes I am trying to watch with VLC using the WI are all...

Playing the .TS files directly from the Humax via a PC

rpb424 in your posts you write "If you set up the webif to decrypt all files in place shortly after they are created then you can stream any Humax content across the network." and later "VLC works fine". My problem is that the VLC player window displays black and if I click that I get a...

    VLC Player window black

I am using HDR-Fox T2 with software FHTCP 1.03.12. If I use the web interface everything seems to be working fine. The problem is that if I select a recorded programme and double click the link a dialogue box opens headed "Media Details". This has "Play" and "Close" buttons at the bottom right...

watching live tv on a laptop

I've got the Humax HDR-Fox T2 running FHTCP 1.03.12. I have it connected to my network wirelessly using a USB dongle. It all seems to be working fine. I can watch programmes recorded on the HDR-Fox T2 from my laptop anywhere I can connect to my wifi. Is it possible to watch live tv from the...
