Yes it's hot! Ordered heat sink but how do you check if fan is working - not showing in 'monitoring' as on and with cover off it's not working?

Waiting to try with a different TV on Monday but if that fails think I will strip down and rebuild again.

TV picture setting was my first call but nothing changed it.

Love the tangents that throw off in these threads - don't understand a lot of it but very informative and good to know that we are all learning! Pulled out the motherboard from my Fox, found very little in the way of dust for a machine that's about 9 years old except around the fan blades...

That's a shame. With a now duff HDR Fox it's a difficult decision as to what to replace it with.Checked all solder joints which were sound so as BH says it a junk!

I did a fixdisk since there was a Disk realloc sector count of 149. This took about 20 hours and then diagnosed again with result Disk realloc sector count is: 161 (was 149) . I'm no expert on the telnet result so attached. Looks like disk dying. Connecting up to a TV found picture problem...

Nothing to plug phonos into. TV's don't have.

Changed HDMI lead so should have solved that problem. Also connected with different lead to another TV.

When I play something on the box with my other telly via home wired network picture is OK.
