prpr... These recordings aren't so valuable that I'll be mortally wounded if the T2 dies, so all I really need is a quick and dirty way of making a potential escape route. If it dies, it dies. Anyway, T2s never die do they?? :whistling:

I can successfully download and upload files from my HDR-FOX T2 via FTP using FileZilla. I want to make backups of recordings I don't want to lose in case of HDD failure using this method because it's very fast.
Question... I know that these downloaded files won't play out of the T2 as they...
But her tv hasn't got an HDMI input.
Maybe simplest is to take the tv back saying it doesn't work on a SCART input and buy another tv with HDMI. Double benefit of HD pic as well!
This looks like a common fault with this set... puts itself into standby. The thread below seems to be the nearest I have found..

Using HDMI may fix it but don't hold your breath (unless you want to do some soldering on the SCART!
@mikesh.... I've not spotted anyone having a failed recording if they watch first, then red button, and subsequently record on AR on the same channel. Mine has certainly been reliable.
@mihaid..... I think it's because they are interested in finding out why it's happening.
Humax seem to be taking their time producing a reason and/or a fix though!
I read this on another (general) forum; not sure if it has been posted on here.
I totally cured my HDR-FOX T2 of the problem by switching the recorder to an offending channel (eg BBC4 HD), leaving it for about five minutes to start filling the buffer properly, and then starting an instant...
