I have 2 quad tuners - had a bit of fun with TVHeadend trying to see how many shows i could record on my nas at the same time using both tuners - it was over 15
see this thread (6) Opinions on HDHomeRun? | hummy.tv
I have not had success on reinstalling DvrOnTime - I had and early build...
Just browsing and saw the thread - its probably possible to mount the foxsat drive using cifs to a folder on the nas
I do it on my HDR-Fox T2 then I point Plex to the mounted folder. Plex thinks the file is local but plays it from the box
Because of the file name convention of Humax ts files...
I presume no one has had virus issues/concerns using this app - Edge did not like it and the web site is almost too basic looking - just puts a few red flags in my head ?!
I really like the Manhattan T3-R. Interface really fast - Only issue I can see on this box is the inability to search the programme guide - (unless I have missed something) Search of on demand works well though - The best DVB-T box out there now in my opinion - Everyone I know who has the Aura...
Hi
It looks really impressive and have had the files a while ago but due to the covid thing have not had a chance to play/install etc
Will try and get up and running and test this out
I use Plex but for TV - it is very hit and miss
For films I use TVHeadend which I recorded and convert to HEVC...
Hi
Sorry just realised I wrote 28 programs recording should have been 18 - corrected the original post
I did get up to 19 but did not try anymore - so my guess that theoretically a lot more is possible
One day I will see how many I can record before the system/bandwidth falls over - Not for a...
Kodi as far as I know does record but does not series link
TVheadend as a backend does series link
No detect ads function either software
Plex does series link and Ad removal - but you have to pay for that
I have read that nextpvr is an alternative but never used it - I know it does series...
Just to see what happens I have set up and am currently recording 28 (update/edit should read 18) different programs using TVHeadend
It’s only using 6 of the 8 tuners so must be using the mux stream and capturing shows from the stream
So far no transport errors
I am amazed !
Subtitles are supported as far as I can see. The subtitles are in the transport stream and you just need to select the subtitle version of the audio part of the stream when watching
Works fine on plex and the TvhClient for iOS I use
The T2 is a one box solution, hooked up to a TV with the super added functionality of the modded software
For ease of use and immediacy its fantastic it’s hard to beat it
The HDHomeRun is purely a lan connected TV tuner. You need other devices/apps to interact with the thing to make it do its...
Hi. I have the quad tuners which are sometimes available for under £100. From Amazon
I use the tvheadend backend software to download all the tv data and do all the recordings. There are Nas and windows and Linux versions of the software with easy ish setup
There are viewing clients on iOS and...
I was a tad uneasy about using the "Kodi" word as unfortunately it has the reputation to be the conduit for nefarious activity
I have a raspberry Pi with LibreELEC - Just enough OS for Kodi running on it
I have a DVB-T tuner plugged in that runs on TVheadend backend and I can use TVH front end...
Just set up Plex on a i3-4130t cpu, SFF PC
Mapped the media folder on the T2 to Z:// in explorer
Told Plex to index the folder
Perfect quick playback - no buffering
Mostly indexed correctly (does not like folder with New at the beginning but I know there is a fix for that)
My download link 1.5mb...
Well I had a go at doing the above and it does work to a fashion
I have a 20mb upload on my service
I used a service with 1.5mb download speed to test playback via plex on my iPad
I was able to watch a tv show that was recorded in HD but with issues
The main issue was the server's ability to...
Where is your nas located ?
Plex server on the nas in the UK with the T2 folders mapped out via cifs in the nas will give you access to recordings anywhere via the plex app
Operate the T2 remotely vis the RS service
Another possible idea is to connect to a UK based PC say via Remote desktop or...
Hi Thank you all for taking the time to reply
I have been away a couple of days and as if by magic the issue has disappeared ??!!
I feel as if I have been in a twilight zone moment :)
I checked my other box which also had the firmware update - this is a remote box not connected to anything...
Hi
I have just updated one of my boxes to the latest version 3.13 (28.04.2017) - All went well - or so I thought
The wife complained that the TV had stopped working ?
She watches via the TV interface not the PVR - On checking there is no RF signal to the TV from the PVR
I checked and replaced...
I have 2 boxes
Both have a tendency to lock up at least once a month. I have to do a mains switch off to get up and running again
I have tried to get into the habit of doing a forced reboot via the web interface diagnostics once a week to try and stop the crash
Not sure if thats working yet...
