The menu options which appear are added by the flatten package itself which is why they aren't available until after it's installed. Defaulting to disabled sounds like the right approach.
I also have flatten2 waiting in the wings which takes an entirely different approach (one which xyz321 came up with) but I don't currently have the time to support it : (

I keep having to run the resetnew Diagnostic to update the folder numbers, only been happening since the recent WebIF update.
 
Could I request that a check be made for a zero length .ts file before attempting decryption please?
My remote box did something weird yesterday which resulted in recordings being made with such files (seems to have been triggered after user rewound the TSR buffer to the start and then got some sort of error message - details are sketchy).
This then created cascading errors in the Webif about being unable to decrypt the files, which slowed it all down lots while trying to work out what the fault was.
 
I'm not aware of any changes in that area. Is there any way to pin down what type of operation is upsetting the count? Is it generally too high or too low?

I am using Sweeper, Recursive Auto-decrypt and Recursive Auto-shrink. An instance would be last night. I recorded Grand Designs which has its own folder which was empty at the time. The auto.log shows successful decryption and shrinking during the 04:15 wake up (disable ota). However the folder did not show a number until I ran resetnew.
 
I'll add my problem to this thread as it manifested after the webif autoupdate to 1.2.4-7 today so I assume it is related.
My media/video list consists of 26 folders and 30+ top-level files.
In the webif browse media/video the list shows the folders and only the oldest nine top-level items.
The last item displayed happens to be locked.
Obviously I could not DLNA-transfer top-level items newer than the nine displayed, but a workaroud (which takes time to refresh) is to use the SUI to create a new folder and move items into it, which are then listed in the webif/browse folder.

OK sort of fixed (previous paragraph when read back prompted me to try):
Via the SUI I unlocked that item which was displayed last, refreshed webif/browse media/video, and a few more items displayed down to another item that was locked. I repeated SUI unlock, refresh webif/browse again and the complete list now displays.

I've now relocked the two items (first via the SUI, second via the webif/opt+) refreshing after each. The list ends where it would (but doesn't) display the icon for a locked item. That is the same on browsers on a Windows PC and an android tablet.

Further "testing" I randomly locked a file within a folder, and the same effect, the folder listing truncates where the lock icon would be.
 
OK as a final (hopefully temporary) workaround I've renamed my extra folder I created earlier to "locked media" and moved - yes - the locked items into it. Everything outside of that folder now displays fine.

edit: I'm sure it would be trivial for anyone else to recreate the condition.

Removed both Recursive Auto-decrypt and Recursive Auto-shrink. Did a recording and numbers updated fine.

Are you using DetectAds? If so which settings?
I am not aware of it causing problems with the counts but I flatten folders so don't see the counts and it is possible that there could be some interaction

I recorded Ripper Street last night. There were 7 files in the folder and this one made eight. It was decrypted and shrunk successfully but the number did not update to eight. The rugby was also being recorded at the same time (it started before Ripper Street and finished after). I chased played it and erased it after viewing.
Is there anything I should try ?
 
Can you post the tail end of your auto.log file?
Depending on your debug level it may have enough in to give me a clue about what's happening here. I half suspect it could be related to the recmon-triggered automatic processing.
Could you also increase the auto processing log level in settings? That will provide more information for next time.
