    ITV1 Failed Recordings

Indeed de gustibus and all that. But to your point, I am pretty sure when I got my TV I played a DVD for calibration and did "things". Of course I cannot remember a thing, but I think it is possible to mess with these things to one's heart's content.

    ITV1 Failed Recordings

I moved to hummy from toppy 100% because of HD. We watch with subtitles and even they are sharper. I have a reminder for BBC then 30 mins later BBC HD at 4am or something for the EPG.

[CFW 3.14] Customised Firmware v3.14 released.

May I explain the case: prpr has (helpfully, in my view) linked the Wiki, which google readily returns. Linking the (more elusive in my experience as presented earlier) advanced packages is at least symmetrical.

[CFW 3.14] Customised Firmware v3.14 released.

It did help, many thanks. If @prpr would like to update his first post, it may help others too.

[CFW 3.14] Customised Firmware v3.14 released.

Thanks for the update. I would like to learn how to do that, rather than using the stick. I had a look on the web interface and couldn’t find this package neither under installed, nor under available. I run auto-update and indeed on accessing the web interface I had loads of notifications, but...

What is the status of my Hummy?

Thank you both very much. I should be quite happy that this was the first time in the many years I have been running Hummies that this happened, then. I will take a look at Black Hole’s list at some point.

What is the status of my Hummy?

A couple of days ago, starting my Hummy led it to "reinstall itself": it started with the "WIZARD" on the front display, and it scanned for channels etc. When restarted, it had lost its schedule. I read the firmware version wrong and thought it had lost the custom firmware, so I reinstalled it...

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

@florca was great to deal with. I look forward to using his Humax to replace mine over the holiday season.

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

I will not be a nuisance: if @florca is happy to post, it should be their choice (and my pleasure) to PM me.

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

If this is the case, happy to negotiate something that works for @florca. Are discussions meant to be public on this thread?

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

Many thanks for doing that. Would you be willing to pass on to me the 2TB one with a fully working remote (mine is broken)? I am south of Edinburgh, so I would need postage, unfortunately. Is this a forum rule, or a helpful suggestion?

Issues after crash: cannot view recordings; cannot see other Humax disk

It says the following: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 54 Jan 12 2015 /mod/boot/newk.conf I am wondering if the error was before fix-flash-packages did its magic.

And it looks like I am sorted. Many thanks everyone!

Issues after crash: cannot view recordings; cannot see other Humax disk

I connected with telnet, put it in maint mode, ran fix-flash-packages; does the following cause concern: Configuring newk. Collected errors: * file_md5sum_alloc: Failed to open file /mod/boot/newk.conf: No such file or directory. Full report below. Enter the diagnostic name (or press return...

Issues after crash: cannot view recordings; cannot see other Humax disk

Thanks bottletop. I doubt I have recordings on B since May; not a big issue if I do. I will do the check you are suggesting. Re network shares automount, doubtful I had taken initiative; only if it's an option that is recommended on the doc. I will see what [Mod Settings] are and where to...
