R Think I've cracked it! Noisy mains. Bought a mains conditioner off eBay for £30 and the box hasn't changed channel or volume since! It's been 5 hours and counting. I'll update in a few days.

Yes, I've covered the front of the box with tape, no good. Only thing I can think of at the moment is that the Anynet system (controls surround sound systems etc through the Tv) on my Samsung TV may be the problem. Have tried disabling, but again, no joy.

I'm having the same problem that you've described here. I actually replaced the unit as my old one was outside of the manufacturer's warranty. Exactly the same problems with the new unit. I've tried factory resets, moving the box, everything described here. Nothing seems to work. I'll be talking...
