    RM-F04 remote not working

I'm also coming in late, but it may be useful to know that the camera sensor on the average smartphone is sensitive in the infra-red spectrum. You can point an IR remote at the camera, press buttons on the remote and check that IR is being sent. I've also used this to determine exactly where...

    Tuner woes

Now I'm confused... The "Signal Detection" readings on all 7 muxes here are similar whether the TV channels are working on not. The "Hidden Menu" version of "Signal Detection" give the same readings on Tuner 1 and Tuner 2. Pulling the serial plug makes the signal readings drop to 0/0, putting...

    Tuner woes

Is there a known hardware problem with the tuner in the Hummy ? I have a model with the older tuner (side by side sockets) and since the retune for the channel changes a few weeks ago the tuner seems to be playing up. The "Signal Detection" utility shows 100% quality on all the RF channels in...

IPv6 in CFW 3.00 kernel? What's the current situation?

Here's a coincidence, because (as I'm an Andrews and Arnold customer too) I was thinking about IPv6 on the Hummy the other day. Presuming that the "network setup" page couldn't be modified to add IPv6 support, I was wondering about doing dhcp6 silently with no user configuration. Perhaps...

No more package updates for Custom Firmware 2.xx (after March 2015)

As a (semi-retired) software engineer, "end of life" is a term I understand, and I believe it's what af123 means. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle

iPlayer schedule 1 hour out ?

Now the UK is back on GMT, iPlayer on the Humax shows the BBC1 10 o'clock news at 22:00 for Sunday and the subsequent days, and at 21:00 for Saturday and the preceeding days. So a timezone problem, but I don't know whose.

iPlayer schedule 1 hour out ?

The enigmatic "Get Network Time" setting is set to "1 Hour", options are "No Offset" and then hourly granularity from 1 Hour to 12 Hour. No idea whether this refers to Broadcast Network or (W)LAN. Do other users have a different setting, I wonder ?

iPlayer schedule 1 hour out ?

Having just made the leap to 1.03.12 (and thus got iPlayer working again through the TV Portal), I notice that all the programme times on iPlayer are out by 1 hour (so the BBC1 News at Ten is shown at 9 p.m., Question of Sport at 6.30 p.m., etc.) Does the iPlayer now display in GMT, or is it...

Unable to reach Humax TV Portal

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done a factory reset (Menu >> Settings >> Installation etc.) and installed the 1.03.12 firmware from ftp.humaxdigital.com (link in the discussion http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/latest-ota-update-10312-problem). And it looks promising now, it has been running for...

Unable to reach Humax TV Portal

Sorry, I meant a solution to accessing iPlayer. I believe support for the Bigscreen iPlayer has ended already. MontysEvilTwin: what do you mean by a factory reset ? I've removed the custom firmware, downgraded to 1.02.32, and reloaded 1.03.12 - and it just crashes continuously every minute or...

Unable to reach Humax TV Portal

As I understand it, the portal-xtra1 package (with pre-1.03 firmware) no longer provides a solution for iPlayer. It's a shame, because my HDR-FOX T2 crashes when attempting to run 1.03.12

Failed BBC3 and BBC4 SD Records

My fix is that I've given up recording from BBC4HD - as the recordings fail with "channel scrambled or not available" more often than not.

Failed Recording of New BBC Four HD Channel

Thanks guys, installing auto-unprotect solved the problem. So I've had to learn all about encryption when all I wanted to do was watch a programme I'd recorded....

Failed Recording of New BBC Four HD Channel

Ah, no. The Wiki (http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Encryption) told me I needed the Auto-Decrypt package, but there isn't a package with that name. That page suggests that Auto-Unprotect is only needed for DLNA decryption, which I didn't think I needed. badnts doesn't depend on auto-unprotect...
