1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Thanks for the suggestion, Ian. I'll probably give that a try.

Downloading Decrypted Recordings to PC - Including HiDef

I can confirm that this also works for the HDR-1800T.

    Mac software problem.

Video Editor Pro turned out to be pretty useless. Crashes a lot, and if you've got to wait an hour or so to transcode the video once done it's a PITA. I could run Windows in a VM, or even reboot my Mac to run Windows natively, but that's a whole load of trouble just to run one program. The...

    Mac software problem.

There is no Mac version of VideoRedo, although reading the forum on their site, several posters have asked for Mac or Linux versions. Seems there are lots of Mac video editors available, though few of them can open .TS files. I'm looking at one with the prosaic name "Video Editor Pro" at the...

    Mac software problem.

Wonderful! Many thanks for pointing this out, wiredcharlie. I've used VLC since time immemorial, but it's great to discover something new. Now all I need is a better way of editing .TS files to remove the adverts. I can convert the .TS file to a Quicktime movie using QT Player (though it...

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Yes, taking no further action at present is my plan. Thanks for your help.

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Not sure quite what you mean by "Webif >Diagnostics>Hard Drive"? If I choose Settings>System>Data Storage>Internal Hard Drive, I get the following: Available Size 226.8 GB Used Size 55.7 GB Reserved Size 57.5 GB Total Size 320.0 GB If I choose Settings>System>Data...

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

OK, chaps, thanks for your help. Before I got this sorted out, something more serious went wrong. The Humax started to green-screen immediately after startup. I would get about 10 seconds of TV picture before it died completely. Turning off and on again made no difference, so I pulled the...

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Thanks, Martin. It says Channel 32, but I can't figure out from digitaluk which transmitter that implies. I'm supposed to get signal from Craigkelly. Blackhill is twice as far away. There is a closer transmitter which retransmits the signal from BlackHill, but it's low power and down in a...

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Interesting suggestion, but alas, connecting by SCART made no difference (apart from a poorer picture quality on those channels which work). Might a manual re-tune help? I haven't looked at that yet.

1800T says signal too weak, but TV says it's fine

Strange problem here. HDR-1800T connected to a Panasonic Viera TV. TV aerial socket is connected to the Humax, so it's receiving its signal via the Humax box. On some Freeview HD channels the Humax is saying that the signal is too weak, and the picture and sound drop out frequently, however...

    Mac software problem.

Here's a progress report, for the benefit of any other mac users who might read this. cling-workbench did not run under my preferred OS (Snow Leopard), but under a more recent OS (El Capitan) and with a newly downloaded JRE it ran and performed exactly as you say. wget refused to install under...

    Mac software problem.

I'd like to be able to download video files from my HDR-1800T to my Mac. I'd prefer not to use USB for this since the 1800T has only one USB port and it's on the back and very awkward to get at. I can ftp over ethernet to the 1800T and put playable files onto it. Reading various posts here I can...
