HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

As you are Beta testing for Apple, perhaps you should mention this problem to them?

    Seems okay in London...

DvrOnTime, for one, strips the EPG data from the TS file before is it recorded, so that would be one good reason not to do it your "much more reliable" way. Do you often use your Humax to record split films that start at 11:30pm? Which broadcaster does that? I've been using AdBreaker for...

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

For what it's worth, I can confirm that the automatic start and stop information for Death In Paradise was broadcast okay on BBC 1 HD in the London area.

YES! That was it! Using latest Firefox, the Save didn't work on v1.0.4. Tried with IE on Win7 and that worked. All new station names in guide, all old station names gone. Guide has populated, it started automatically, but new stations are showing 'No Program Data' message as yet. I'll give it...

Doh, well, there's a whole mux I have never seen then, and now it's too late...

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

Correction! There are still seven muxes in London. There is local stuff on Channel 35. I found a lot of out of date info on the web before finding digitalbitrate.com which monitors what is on air today. That doesn't solve my problem, though. The more I look, the worse it gets. I now realise I...

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

I agree with your logic totally. However, there used to be 7 muxes here in London, now reduced to 6. After further investigation, I can see the HDHomeRun tuner has found the new BBC4 HD on the PSB3/BBCB mux on Channel 30 (546MHz) here in London. DvrOnTime, after re-tuning, still thinks BBC4...

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

Me too. Tried to fix by re-tuning DvrOnTime (and remembered to scroll down and save the results) but still no BBC4 HD. Then tried tuniong HDRHomeRun and found that BBC4HD is available (London, Crystal Palace) on HDHomeRun, and also works on my Humax Fox T2. Tried again with DvrOnTime...

Yes, I have, but I don't notice it often, and it's only adrift by about one tv frame. Also, there is sometimes a very small hole in the sound just after the edit. That's when using my Fox T2 for playback. Previously, when I used VLC on Windows for playback, the adbreaker stuff I recorded from...

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

With or without cataracts, it's clear to see that HD is getting worse over time, while SD is benefitting from the bandwidth saving advances trialled on HD. Broadcasters seemed to be fixated on reducing bandwidth ('cos they pay by the bit), only stopping short at transmitting blocky pictures...

My sympathies to you. I used to live near Dover, at sea level, with Church Hougham transmitter about four miles away, and well over a thousand feet higher. Dover town needed a repeater to get anything at all! 86% quality is absolutely not good enough - that's your problem - so fiddling with...

So, scenarios where Pending entries are useful: 1. A broadcaster decides episodes once every three months is a good idea? 2. War is declared and we are all going to die, so this week's episode is postponed until next week?

HDR-FOX T2 to HDHomeRun, my journey

Dunno. However, even if the Pending entries stayed there for a whole year, they would still not record the next series of the same programme, because the broadcasters always change the series identifier. IIRC series indentifiers last for something like a maximum of 26 weeks. Even ITV News at Ten...
