Whatever the cause (I expect we shall never know) after the updated firmware and updated Magic Folders, the couple of files I have tried work fine.
Thanks for the suggestion of using the desktop version of web with the phone in landscape mode. This is workable, whereas in portrait mode it was...
Thanks. The update to 1.4 was automatic, I didn't have to do anything. It was just there when I opened the web. After that, I installed the custom-firmware-hdr package and it did update - much more convenient than looking for a USB Stick. I'll check what happens when I cut/crop later on.
Removing the orange filter sounds a good idea, and the instructions are clear. But it does feel a bit much for me. After all, I was mainly concerned that I would need to read the display when updating the firmware. If the messages are on the TV screen, I don't have to worry.
Upgrading the...
Thanks for both the last two responses. Though it is still useful to know that ageing can make the Humax display unreadable.
I think I may as well wait for 3.14. There's only the one problem with what I have and there is the working alternative approach, even though I prefer the method that no...
I thought that might be it. I'll check tonight. I think I was somewhat worried that I would not be able to see that the installation went ok if I could not read the screen.
Ah, if browse doesn't work well on a phone, that does mean that using the remote may often be easier than the web. Desktop version on the phone is definitely too small for convenient use, though it does have all the functions.
Yes, I did try another file and had the same problem. And (I thought...
I may have just been so used to one way of working that I didn't want to change to a better way.
No I haven't updated the CF recently, nor have I done anything consciously to affect it before the issue arose. I did, after my initial enquiry here, run fix-flash-packages and also removed the...
Sorry I didn't use the right word.; it's called Cut in the Magic Folders, though.
I can, of course, move files using the remote if it can't be done on the web. But I definitely want to be able to move files into subfolders of my Video folder.
As you say, the web is easy if one has access to...
Right, I've taken a look. I have Nicesplice and Nicesplice Magic Folders installed, and have always been using Magic Folders. As yet (I'll play around further) I don't see what the advantage is of using the web rather than Magic Folders. But that may be because I normally use the remote to...
OK. Since I installed the custom firmware many years ago, I can't remember what I did. I guess it must have been the Nicesplice magic folders, as others have mentioned. I'll check further. I didn't know there had been changes, since it has been working fine until now. Sorry I was not more...
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, as I haven't wanted to cut a file for some time, or if something has gone wrong with my customised firmware.
Anyway, I have the customised firmware, I have a file with two bookmarks. I put the file into the folder "move file here" in the Cut folder of...
Two recent scheduled recordings on different channels worked successfully, so I guess we can just say there was a glitch. What with a number of recordings on different channels all having failed, I was worried that something was significantly wrong
I'll investigate further after I've made a recording tonight, and seen if it works, and what happens when I delete. It wouldn't surprise me if zero length .ts is treated differently from non-zero length, but I thought the experts would have known whether or not this is so. Thanks for the...
With the customised firmware, deleted files should still be available in the Deleted folder. I was surprised that these were not present.
No, the disk is not full, though I can see why you think of this as an obvious possibility. Not too long ago I deleted all my recordings, as I had copies on...
