    Reallocated sectors

I Have an HDR-Fox T2 and use the customised firmware, and lately it is giving me warnings about reallocated sectors. Specifically, today it said Overall Health: PASSED Reallocated sectors: 5 (was 4) Pending sectors: 0 (was 0) Offline sectors: 0 (was 0) The number has vret up from...

    Putting Humax in standby

Thank you. I realised that I had been using the desktop version of the remote controller. I've switched to the mobile version and will see if that works better, which it may. If not, I now know how to create a macro. But I don't know how to rename macros. That is needed, because keystrokes on my...

    Putting Humax in standby

Makes sense, but can you explain in detail.

    Putting Humax in standby

I quite often use my iPhone to connect to my Humax custom firmware, and use the remote to put it into standby. But if there's too much being recorded (or watched) the on-off button of the web remote is covered by the list of items. Is there another easy way to put the Humax into standby?

    File format not supported

I've just done it, and the file plays. That suggests there's something odd going on with the FTP transfer. I'll experiment a bit more with that. "All" about encryption is a far cry for me, I know a bit. Yes, I knew I could do it that way, but find iPlayer Automator easier to use. But I didn't...

    File format not supported

Thanks. I'll try physically moving the file over (copying onto a flash drive) and see if it works. The .ts file I was trying came from an older model of Humax, so I would have expected it to work, but maybe there was a change or I did something when getting it to my Mac. However, it does say its...

    File format not supported

A couple of files I copied from my Mac to my Fox T2 recently gave the message "file format not supported" when I tried to play them. One was a .ts file, the other was an .mp4. Both played fine on the Mac. I never used to have any trouble. I upgraded to Big Sur not so long ago, but I can't see...

    Remote Control

Thanks. I took a look at the instructions for dismantling the remote, and decided it was too difficult for me to do unless the remote had so many faults that it had to be dismantled or replaced. But 0 to switch on is ideal, and I may also use the ir package (as I already have the customised...

    Remote Control

The (original) remote control for my HDR Fox T2 is mostly working ok. Once the machine is on, all the buttons work as they should. But the on/off button on the remote does not work, I have to turn the box on and off by the big button in the centre of the box. I am wondering if a failing battery...

    Scheduling HD

Many thanks. The free space on my hard drive had dropped a fair bit recently (mainly because I had missed Line of Duty the first time round and so binge-recorded and watched four series), so I was not sure if I might have set things to avoid HD with less free space. As it's a BBC thing, it's...

    Scheduling HD

I have an HDR-Fox T2 with the customised firmware. Until recently when I used the EPG to schedule a recording I got offered the option to make the recording in HD even when I had chosen an SD channel. But lately this optio is not appearing although the program is available in HD. I'm wondering...

    Disk problem

So remote scheduling sent me an error message The HDR-Fox T2 has some potential hard disk problems. Overall Health: PASSED Reallocated sectors: 0 (was 0) Pending sectors: 1 (was 0) Offline sectors: 1 (was 0) I went through the recommended procedure (telnet into maintenance mode...

    Editing wiki: telnet

Thanks. I have now requested permission to edit. It was fairly easy for me to get telnet back, as I had an old Time Machine backup. But others might not find it so easy, and it might be useful for someone to give alternative advice about using maintenance mode.

    Editing wiki: telnet

Is anyone allowed to edit the wiki? There's a change needed and I don't know how to make it. Perhaps someone else can make it for me. I have a problem with my Hummy (I'll post about that elsewhere) and the advice in the wiki says I need to telnet into the machine. I am using MacOS 10.13.6 High...

    Channels 55 and 56

I didn't say I WANTED 32 and 34, I was just curious about them. Thanks for explaining that my older config file had persisted. I have just installed webshell. So it was easy to do the command suggested by MymsMan.
