    4000T no signs of life

Exactly that, it's not uncommon that we both want to watch a couple of programs each which are on at the same time. Usual story, not much on for most of the day but loads of interest on around 8pm. Could use the various players to a degree, except ITVx is unusable and C4 and C5 have ads which I...

    4000T no signs of life

Removed the HDD and tried to power it up, 12.22V but no lights. There is a faint high pitched tone. Something inside appears to have gone bang I guess...

    4000T no signs of life

ok, I'll check that thanks. I know the Fox T2 caps were so notorious for failing that a kit of replacement caps was produced (which I did on both T2s which are still working). I'm guessing similar wasn't done for the 4000, given that they've lasted 8yrs they seem to not be such a problem so I...

    4000T no signs of life

I guess I'm failing to find an existing thread, maybe someone could point me in the right direction? Basically my 4000T appears dead - no lights or anything. When we tried to use it first today it wasn't responding (no lights), after unplugging and back in (at back of unit) I initially got a...

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Correct, I failed to notice it was on until it was part way through.

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

It seems that during the crash loop the original .mp4 never gets deleted so at least I didn't have to keep downloading that, it detected it was already downloaded and just proceeded to attempt to fix it again. If I do abandon a fix then I'm left with both files so after checking the original...

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Interesting, I'm having trouble getting my head around this though. This is my thinking (which may or may not be valid). Currently we 'always' get the malformed bitstream message. Currently the fixup checks it and seems to fix it regardless of whether it needed fixing. Either that or crashes...

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

I'm quite cautious and would rather be alerted to a possible problem when I have chance to fix it (re-download the program) rather than when I want to watch it only to find out it doesn't play. Knowing I can just check the program and ignore if needed should suffice for now thanks.

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Had to up the file to 512 to get rid of the message in the end but all sorted now. Thanks all.

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Thanks! I found the file editor and changed 128 to 256 and a different program (around 4.8Gb) which had also been failing the same way has now worked. The first failing program did appear to play at the start and end so it sounds like I can just use it anyway. Now onto the remaining programs...

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Thanks, I thought it may be size related hence why I mentioned it. Are there any implications of not fixing the malformed AAC bitstream, deleting the program.temp.mp4 file and just using the program.mp4 file? If I do need to fix it (to use the mp4), what would be a good size to change the...

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

Thanks, any idea if there is a problem with program.mp4 which actually needs to be corrected or is it good anyway? What is it trying to fix?

What is an malformed AAC bitstream?

I've been trying to use Q Download to download a program which I've done in the past. This time the program has downloaded but the box crashed while trying to fix an malformed AAC bitstream. I'm now in a vicious circle of crash, , power off/on, restarting the queued download, downloading video...

    Keeps forgetting channels

Yes, yes and thanks! One of those things I didn't even think about when moving house. So long since I last played with it I'd forgotten it was even there... Sorted now.
