Thanks for the reply. I've just checked; new recordings seem to be OK and there are "_shrunk" files remaining in the relevant folders. I am deducing from your wording that this is a known issue with -2 which was resolved in -3 so all I need to do is delete those files and requeue; is this...
Since the webif update from 1.5.1-1 to 1.5.1-2 all Shrink operations are failing on both my boxes. I further updated one of them to 1.5.1-3 but the error persists. A sample error message from auto.log reads:
"05/06/2023 23:47:06 - shrink:::shrink::dequeue: error copying...
One issue I found earlier this evening is that Auto Processing is still running on BST. I disabled it for an hour but it still ran a decrypt that I wanted to delay and the time stamp was an hour ahead. This will probably only affect a minority but I thought I should mention it.
I'm sorry to say I can't repeat it either:oops: Or rather, I can but I can easily get round it. The issue seems to be that I am using an oldish wheel mouse with the wheel button assigned as a double click. It appears that the file selecter (the built-in Java one?) is very hit and miss (mostly...
Thanks for this great utility, which I've been trying on some undecrypted offline backups. Unfortunately, following a recent Java update (from 1.8.0.181 to 191) the file selecter no longer works properly; you can go up the directory tree but it takes the first directory you select thereafter as...
I'm on Sudbury and the signal on CH44 is currently showing as strength 74-76%, quality 100%. I don't use any of the channels so can't comment on recent performance.
I've just checked my recording from BBC2HD; it begins just as the continuity announcer is introducing the programme and ends at the end of the following trailer for American Crime Story.
As I record the news on HD I don't get the local news so can't comment on that.
As I have had no issues with programmes recorded using Accurate Recording for a few days now I think it is safe to assume, unless anyone has any experiences to the contrary, that the issue the BBC admitted to has now been fixed.

This is to inform users of Freesat boxes that the BBC has just admitted that Accurate Recording is not working reliably at the moment, so if you want to ensure you record a full programme you will need to switch to using padding. The full statement is here:

I have now had the following response to my complaint:
"Thanks for contacting the BBC Reception Advice Team.
I forwarded your correspondence to our investigation team who have asked that I pass on the following:
"We are currently experiencing some issues preventing accurate recording.

Indeed. The Accurate Recording points on BBC HD channels have been up the spout since Sunday on both Freeview and Freesat. On virtually every recording I have made since then either the beginning or the end of the programme has been cut off. Who did you complain to, Graham?
