prpr - Thank you. I will explore the Restore TV site.
I do have a satellite dish which feeds into an ancient Sky box that I never use.
That may be their reason not to help me.
Owen Smith - Took the aerial out of the power block and plugged it directly into the Humax
Got the "signal too weak"...
All of the equipment, including the amplifier, was installed by the aerial installer.
It's from around 2004-ish so early FreeView.
I do not know what they are or do.
The only installing I have done was to install the filters.
When the reception issues return I will remove the amp (white box)...
Thank you all for your replies.
Here are photos of attachments to my aerial mast.
They are about 10 foot off the ground so this is the best I could do.
Thank you, Martin.
May I tentatively ask, what is the purpose of amplifying the signal?
Presumably, as it's digital, it's to get it above a certain minimum threshold?
It's like pulling teeth (to you) because you know what you know and I don't know what you know or need to know.
We were discussing picture quality.
Is it such a leap to think that's why you asked about the signal amplifier?
Didn't realise signals could be too high?
Here is the signal amplifier
Oddly, the SD channels improved last night.
And when I look at them now, they seem fine.
I won't bypass the signal amplifier as I wouldn't be able to detect any difference in picture quality.
Thank you for the reply.
I will do the bypass tomorrow.
The chain of command is
Aerial > Restoretv.uk filter > signal amplifier > Humax > TV (I think).
I will check that tomorrow.
So...
All my SD channels are breaking up and are unwatchable.
Apart from the 3 that are on the PSB3/BBC B Mux.
HD channels are fine.
Live readings from the TV interface are:-

It works perfectly on my network... 🙂
It was just for the signal strength and quality values.
I suppose I could have dragged it into SeaMonkey to delete the last 2 columns.
Original filter replaced.
New filter fitted.
Incidentally, there is an FAQ on the restoretv.uk website that describes my problem perfectly.
It's the first question in the Filters section.
It's this question:-
"I have an at800 filter. Will this need to be replaced if mobile services are...
OK. so I have re-jigged my aerial signal chain.
Aerial > Restoretv.uk filter > signal amplifier > Humax
This has boosted the signal strength of all the channels as reported by the Menu >> Settings >> System >> Signal Detection
Sadly, the quality values remain the same.
[Edit] I spoke too...
Thank you, Rodders.
The FreeView checker doesn't report any problems for my location.
prpr, The table is the same as if I'd jotted the values down from the telly.
Last retune was about a month ago.
Weaker than previously when I didn't have this problem.
You are probably right that the...
