I retired out of Aircraft Engineering in 2018, partly due to an impaired memory due to a head injury in 1995, which has worsened with age, and seems to be compounded by retirement. Excuses over, I do still have an interest in electronics....35 years ago I made a kit 6 channel Micron RC set, and a Maplin Matinee electronic organ kit, and several smaller projects from circuit diagrams since. I'm OK with basic DC & AC electrics.....and reasonably OK with electronic component basic theory...it just gets complicated when they're all connected together to do PFM !
For IT, I'm OK with basics such as e-mail & Whatsapp, but never ventured into facebook, Twitter, etc, etc.
My comfort zone is as a hobby machinist, on my small Myford mill & lathe, and I volunteer at a charity called Workaid.org, restoring woodworking & metalworking machine tools to send to vocational training projects in Africa...so as you can imagine, I hate throwing anything away.
My big wish is hopefully to learn to play electronic keyboards, and read music...something I never had time to take up seriously, after leaving my first job as an apprentice Church organ builder & tuner in 1975, to follow a career in aviation.
