Unfortunately it didn't work. I found a workaround for what I want to do though. I have renamed the .ts file as .mpg and I can play the video on my PS3. Thanks for your help everyone!

Interesting idea. I don't know much about DLNA, does it buffer the media stream? I see the PS3 supports DLNA, I wonder if that could be used as a client over a VPN to the Humax to play the recordng!!?? That would be cool (in a nerdy sort of way) Thanks for your help

Ahhh, I see. Presumably each box has its own encryption algorithm so even if I copied the files onto another Humax box it still wouldn't work?
