    [rs] Remote Scheduling v1

AR seems to have some advantages but I already found out that if you are watching timeshift of the same channel that a recording is planned then the recording doesn't start until you change channel or stop timeshift .. something I didn't see mentioned on the wiki page. But overall if it means...

    [rs] Remote Scheduling v1

I will try using AR instead of padding for recordings. The remote scheduling had created a recording schedule for today at 08:45 but the EPG shows it had been changed to be at 08:40, so an hour before I manually changed that scheduled recording to be AR and the box did start recording at 08:40...

    [rs] Remote Scheduling v1

For programmes with changed times I only get the details in one email even though the EPG has updated after that and has revised times. If you are using auto scheduling then is a programme which changes broadcast time sent twice from auto scheduling to your hummy (and you'd see the changed...

    [rs] Remote Scheduling v1

Is it possible to configure how far in advance rs will schedule a programme? I have rs working ok but it will schedule my hummy as soon as epg data is received for a particular channel (about 8 days in advance). The problem I have is that some channels change their schedules between the...

    Remote Scheduling - Device Description

A day later after the schedule was pushed from the server -> HDR machines, the hostname on the rs website is still not updated. So perhaps the hostname is stored on the website when you register the box and not updated if you later update the hostname on the device itself. I can...

    Remote Scheduling - Device Description

it is not clear to me either, because I changed the host names on the devices themselves via the web-if and then rebooted them but the text on the rs webpage has not changed. Some synchronization might need to take place (although I did run rs/sync on each box as well) and i'm not sure when that...

    Remote Scheduling - Device Description

I see, so the entry in the device pull down is actually "<hostname> - HDR - <description>", with the MAC address used if the description is empty. And the names of the boxes around the two devices are the hostnames and not the descriptions, rather than having hostname appear in the list of...

    Remote Scheduling - Device Description

I have connected 2x HDR Fox to remote scheduling but when I login to the remote schedule website and configure the description fields for the two boxes, the names on the remote scheduling site don't match. I want to use a naming convention of Fox2A, Fox2B etc but the text in the box around each...

Old sweeper package to file away one-off recordings

Sweeper has a problem with shows with accented characters in the name. I am in Finland and the name of the 7pm news is in finnish (Seitsemän Uutiset). For all other shows sweeper moved the programme, ok, but for the 7pm news the length in the on screen browser showed zero mins. Looking via...

    HDR FOX T2 overseas

Webif can be corrected by editing the TZ defined in /mod/etc/init.d/S01mongoose but by doing that it does display the correct time but won't allow any schedules to be set that occur in the next 2h (2h is the difference UK - Finland) since it gives an error that shows in the past cannot have a...

    HDR FOX T2 overseas

There seem to be two on sale at Gigantti (finnish version of Dixons/Giganten) and from this forum people have said the BXR model is crippled like in Sweden http://www.gigantti.fi/search?WFSimpleSearch_NameOrID=humax

Old sweeper package to file away one-off recordings

I think you can just rename an existing file and then run sweeper to see what it will do. i'm not sure how you rename the file with a utf-8 character in it though. One thing I have thought of is another sh script to rename the files and strip utf-8 characters from the filenames before sweeper...

    HDR FOX T2 overseas

Doing that doesn't help the web interface. I have the timezone adjusted to +2 in the service menu but the web interface still shows time two hours out. Also via telnet and FTP the times are two hours out (although not the filenames of recorded programmes which do show local time). Somewhat...

    HDR FOX T2 overseas

I started this thread to report what happens when you take a HDR FOX abroad, in this case to Finland. Some things work and some don't. Some cause trouble and some can be worked around. Finland has DVB with both UHF and VHF broadcasts (analogue was switched off well before the UK). Some...

Old sweeper package to file away one-off recordings

it is related to utf-8 character set. That's why the single letter A with dots over it in "SeitsemÄn" appears as two characters in the filename or two question marks in ls output (one letter ends up as two bytes). tolower then crashes if a utf-8 character is in the string to convert.
