    Driving and Roads

It's as Gomezz described, quoting from the book: "Security coded radio: To deter thieves, a radio or CD unit that requires a security code (or pin number) to operate it." I stand corrected as I didn't realise it was still a thing, I can't remember the last time I saw one, and our cars aren't...

    Driving and Roads

I did - took a while to get in touch with the correct people at AA publishing, and today they thanked me for the useful comments and said my corrections would be reflected in the next edition. Happy to say my daughter passed her theory test yesterday - that part of their book is pretty...

My daughter is learning to drive so (lucky her) I bought her this 488 page thriller for bedtime reading: It's only the 10th edition (2022) so should we be lenient when they mess up the fundamentals of how a car works 😉. There's more errors, just in the "beginner's guide" glossary section alone.

    Denon remote codes

If anyone ever reads this again, the 3 digit guide from here has several codes for various Denon kit, mine worked with "067" (I have an AVR-X1300R, I would guess most AVR--XnnnnR will be the same, as are 'just' different power/specs). Lucky it was a low number as I originally found it by trial...

I'm usually behind on current events, but keep up Victoria...(and not a subtitle error, she did say it)

Mark Webber (F1 build-up last Sun, I'm days behind) said the pit lane loss is massive, "nearly over 30 seconds". Hmm. I wonder which driver will do the thirty-second pit stop 😉

Never noticed a "bank error in your favour" in Tesco, but twice this year I've had clubcard reductions not applied by the till (pork joints reduced to £4/kg, and frozen scampi at half price - the staff did remove the half-price shelf label when processing my refund, but the pork was still...

    Media mistakes

Not a media mistake, but it is in print. Took this in my local store today, to show it to the customer services. Then had to explain what the error is.

Hmm, they really should know better. Also it's lower case 😉 but that's much less of a concern to me. To answer @antipodean, the 7 knots was referring to a constant speed (that's partly how the search and rescue knew where to look).

Interesting tale. Wonder if the first thing he did afterwards was buy a lottery ticket? I note one of the fishermen quoted their speed not in knots but as "7 miles an hour" (10:58), and Hannah says "7 knots" correctly the first time it's used (1:24). Might even have been the story editor writing...

Towns absconding to other counties aside, I was a bit startled by the F1 Quali subs today

Problem. Have an old faulty T2 with 2TB drive. Also have a new working T2 with no HDD

Off topic, but I wouldn't dare 🤣 In my multi-user, trigger happy household, it's saved the day (and an argument) many times...

Or disable the "Create backup files in dustbin for decrypt and shrink?" option.

Problem. Have an old faulty T2 with 2TB drive. Also have a new working T2 with no HDD

Just a note for anyone enabling "recursive decrypt" on their whole media library (especially for the first time): If you have the "undelete" package installed, you will have a "Create backup files in dustbin for decrypt and shrink?" option in WebIF >> Settings >> Auto-Processing Settings. If...

Our excellent pub has staff that still ask for change, but as it's a real ale connoisseur's destination, the clientele tend to be older (and still paying cash), and the staff aren't that young either...
