Yes, the Humax would be bottom on my list of suspects. Contenders are: old/poorly aligned aerial (maybe in loft as opposed to ext.), old/damaged lossy coax, passive splitters (often hidden under lagging), lossy/incorrect coax terminations, crappy labgear dist. amp (and/or its power supply)...
