What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

I have several working HDR-FOX T2 and others. Haven’t used for some years and can’t remember state, some have custom firmware. Free collection Leeds area or ‘post‘ if there’s any interest.

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

I have several (don’t ask!) collectable (Leeds area) but you seem all to be darn sarf! :(

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

I applied the system flush and the machine seems to be cured though it’s only a couple of days and the faults were intermittent but became too frequent to use it. Fingers crossed, but won’t be surprised if it plays up again. So thanks again!

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

Thanks, I’ll give that a go, but as you see I’m not short of alternatives!

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

I should really know all this. I have been using an HDR-FOX T2 which has long had freezes and failed to boot up unless powered completely off for a time. I thought I had cured it by putting it on a timer which powdered it off for a time each night but recently got worse and had picture freezes...

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

Yes, found one. I must have not paused any recordings since I set up the HDR a few days ago. I haven’t tried it yet but I see what has happened is that they have combined the play & pause buttons on the RM, which is logical but daft since it destroys compatibility. The RM pause doesn’t work on...

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

Ah, maybe so. I haven’t used the HDR 2000T before, didn’t occur to me the remote was different. I’ll see if I can find another remote. Thanks a lot for your amazingly prompt help. I haven’t been here for ages so it’s good to see the forum is still going!

Remote control functions swapped after firmware update

I’ve just started using an HDR-2000T which I think my brother stopped using due to the sound not working. The sound was indeed reluctant to start so I presumed this was the sound over hdmi bug and applied the latest firmware from the Humax website. I didn’t notice any problem and the sound...

Internal HDD failing, use external instead?

Thanks, but I've already copied them to the aforementioned external drive - there weren't very many and this is a new (to me) HDR. I guess the failing hard drive is why it was on eBay, that and the fact that the remote has some non-functioning buttons. I have several other remotes that work so...

Internal HDD failing, use external instead?

Thanks BH. I had just found that was probably the case as I have just formatted the external drive using the HDRFOX T2 and found I cannot select it for recording.

Internal HDD failing, use external instead?

The internal HDD on my HDR FOX T2 is failing. I am running the custom firmware. I have tried fixdisk (twice) and reformatted twice and once with gptf). It currently works and will record and play back. I have an external HDD attached which it sees and plays from but will not record to. I suspect...

    New HD-FOX T2

OK but it is listed on this site here: https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Firmware_Downloads

    New HD-FOX T2

BTW I wasnt quite clear when I wrote "The 1.03.xx is no longer offered on the mysteriously hidden Humax update pages". The link to 1.03xx in the "official firmware" box on this site no longer works because Humax do not offer 1.03.xx any more. Again, not a problem to me since I have installed the...

    New HD-FOX T2

Yes, yes ... but what was happening was that I was replacing the link with nothing, null, nada, emptiness not even a Black Hole (ha ha!) but that was still not allowed. I was not replacing the link with another link but I suppose the software thinks that the "nothing" that I inserted was a link...
