HDMI blanking randomly UKTV channels 5000T

I see 'the problem' via the HDR FoxT2 - but I haven't regarded it as a 'problem' because I haven't enough data points. It's more of 'an irritation' Hence me reporting rather than asking for help. 'Firestorm' is just me writing for dramatic effect - sorry - habit - training - screenplay...

HDMI blanking randomly UKTV channels 5000T

Woah! I seem to have created a small firestorm here. I'm appreciative of all the good intentions behind the posts though. EEPhil started by saying "I mention this, not expecting a viable solution, but as a point of reference if anyone else has this problem." and I have this problem, so I...

HDMI blanking randomly UKTV channels 5000T

I’m just browsing anything to do with fvp5000 because our pair of HDR recorders are dying, and this caught my eye because we’ve noticed these channels doing exactly this. Since one of the forced retunes was imposed last year. Makes these channels unwatchable at times.

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

I would be mildly annoyed if it died unexpectedly, but it's a minor part of life in the bigger picture. A bigger disk would be the way to go, since reading here while ago that 2TB can now be supported.

VTOC - Visual table of Contents FAT - File Allocation Table All File systems need a way of knowing whereabouts on a disk they placed an item - otherwise they have to read the entire disk surface looking. Windoze uses FAT, IBM iron uses VTOC So somewhere, I am assuming that each of the .hmt...

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

I set about returning to a valid, known state, and it hadn't occurred to me that that small part of the WebIF would need installing separately. My own fault for not sitting down to read the full documentation on the package content. - And me the only one who subscribes to RTFM in the household. !

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

Sorry - I didn't intend to suggest physical damage. 'damage merely indicates that recorded material is no longer accessible. All it takes is a bit missing - or added. As it happened, fix disk ran with dozens, hundreds of changes.

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

Well, I wouldn't. The solution, as to so much in life, is to provide enough information to enable someone not completely conversant with the underlying OS and package architecture, to evaluate what needs to happen. This starts with adequate explanation within an error message. I have spent a...

AH, thanks - the missing part of the puzzle. A separate package. Case solved.

Pause on Live TV no longer works

Right. So the media list is showing an extract of the VTOC/FAT (whatever) catalogue. Makes sense. And I have no problem if the file exists in a format which an FTP can find. To broadcast the email I had supposed that it must be identifiable by name. Thanks for this. When I next have the...

Pause on Live TV no longer works

No Table of Content / File Allocation Table? - does it scan the entire disk to construct the media file list then? Ah, that must be a file system thing? I had the naive expectation that a full disk check would look at the Table of Contents /File Allocation table, then go to the stated disk...

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

I looked at the referenced topic. I don't think it is directly relevant. The remote control went missing at some unspecified point. I can point to no actions that may be responsible. I find tat as of now, however, that 'browse files' over the web is showing only a portion of the VTOC - as...

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

Thanks. I had first run the 'download and install the Full Web Interface' option. This did not result in the remote control option appearing, so, knowing that the usb stick has a known working version, I reloaded from that. All of which didn't affect anything. I have just now repeated...

Missing (virtual) remote, with added disk woe.

One of our HDR;s now has 27,000 hours on the clock, and for a long time now it has been sending me daily emails, the content of which is Device: HDR-Fox T2 (HumaxK - 00:03:78:ba:32:97) At least one failed recording has been detected in your media library. The following recording(s) failed...

Pause on Live TV no longer works

Thanks for this. The Remote (virtual) had vanished, and the box, for a while now, has been broadcasting help emails saying that a file was corrupted, but the file name given is not in any of the browse listings. Of course, I suspect a power failure or such has left the TOC corrupted, but a...
