I know what you mean - I've had great service from the old Foxsat, and have never felt the need to change it until now. I'll post back after I've got it and had a chance to play with it.
Thanks to those who offered advice. I managed to borrow another Humax box to test and that worked flawlessly, with both tuners reporting good signals. So I'm now looking forward to my new HDR 1100S
My Humax FoxSat-HDR with standard firmware, which must be about 8 years old and has been in pretty constant use, has developed a fault.
Although I can watch Freesat, every time I change a channel I get a brief message of "No or Bad Signal" before the channel is then displayed. It's impossible...
This thread, in which I've posted my own problems that started yesterday, seems to show similar failures. My Foxsat HDR box is running on Humax's own firmware.........
Foxsat HDR with most recent firmware. Yesterday, I found that I couldn't move from one channel to another by opening the EPG and selecting the desired channel (I was offered the options to record a program instead) but had no problem moving to any channel by using the remote to send the channel...
"Schedule/Red" is a lot quicker than "Menu" for me. I've got a Harmony 600 and I've created a sequence called GuideScheduleRed and assigned the Humax commands "Schedule", then "Red" to it. I've then assigned that sequence to the Guide button under the WatchTV Activity in place of the default...
I've been using the Harmony 600 for a month or so and like it a lot. There are some posts on the net about the 650 (same as 600 but with colour) spontaneously rebooting but the only time mine did that was when I dropped it on a tiled floor from some height, so I can't hold that against it...
Re: hummy.tv.
Great to see this forum up and running - no sooner had I bought a Foxsat HDR than the hummy.org forum vanished!!! Sure this will be a worthy successor. Good luck!
