I'm on my third DTR T1000, had 2 swaps already and this latest replacement box hardly works at all without freezing and going blank.
My original box was bought about 14 months ago from Argos, is it still possible to go to trading standards about replacement Humax boxes that aren't working?
Having the same problem, my original box started part recording or failing all together to record programmes. Got a replacement box from Humax as my year warranty was up with shop I bought it from. That box was even worse. Got my latest one from them and it's practically unwatchable. The screen...
Yep suppose so. Although generally hard drives should be similar regarding performance and reliability if they're the same make.
I've got 2tb of hard drives in the pc and I've not had any bother. So don't see why the Humax differs in reliability between 500 gb and 1tb models. It's not really...
Ok thanks.
Looks like I'll be better off with the 500gb model then.

I was going to go for the 1TB model, as its only around £30 more than the 500gb model.
But after reading your post I'm wondering whether I should..
Is the 1TB much more problematic than the 5oogb?
I'm leaning towards getting the FOX as well. If its easy enough to set up I player, etc on it then that would be a bonus.
I might just hold off for a month or two and see what happens with prices with existing humax products and new youview boxes. Hopefully they might drop in price and have...
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
Just not sure whether to wait a month or two before buying either box.
Maybe the HDR-FOX T2 might drop a little in price with the release of the DTR-T1000.
And it might give youview time to improve it's features. Then again suppose it could take ages...
I've cancelled my contract with Virgin, which runs out on the 8th of August, and decided to buy a freeview box instead.
After reading online about different makes, etc I decided to go for the HDR-FOX T2.
I went onto John Lewis to check prices and noticed the DTR-T1000 is now available.
