Sorry I hadn't twigged you were using the pull downs for the Notifications set up
I'd never needed the pull downs and so didn't realise there was a pop up behind them.
Matching the SMTP relay settings to what I used in Custom Server Settings for Notifications just worked (for my provider - gmx)...
You're welcome, happy to try to help.
That's good, what status is reported ?
That's what I've called the 'real world account' for want of a better description.
Information related to the real world account is used in three places on this set up.
1) The account that the NAS uses to send...
I started from the point of having the NAS set up as a client sending status notifications via a real world mail service to other email accounts.
I assume you have that working. If not, get it working with whatever current security protocols your real world mail server demands before moving on...
I'd imagine what you need to do varies between products. What brand of NAS do you have?
If your NAS is set up for mail notifications of monthly reports etc. then the NAS is working as a regular client with your provider.
This is fairly standard. You need something extra to allow the old tech...
Could be several things, including authorisation.
Hard to diagnose with the tools available and information provided.
I gave up trying to interface obsolete clients to email providers a couple of years ago.
The workaround I have is to use an email relay on the LAN.
My relay runs on a NAS, but...
A 'blank Finder window' for an FTP connection may or may not be right.
If it is a working FTP session, then I'd expect to be able to navigate around the Humax file system in order to download selected files to the Mac.
I'm not familiar with Mac so not sure what a working FTP connection from a...
It has been a while, but my recollection is that by default there is no need for credentials to access the web interface.
Assuming the address you have used (192.168.55.108) is correct, the fact that you are being asked to sign in implies an account has been set up to protect the web interface...
How sure are you about having adjustable icon size ?
The shortcut toolbar icons used for navigation can be on or off.
Check "Settings" -> "Web Interface Settings" -> "Display Shortcut Toolbar on every screen" and choose 'Yes' for on.
I'm not aware of any way you can change their size from the...
To follow up, housekeeping ran overnight.
The thumbnails for the file set with the "error @0:13" suffix were created as expected.
The file set remained in place and the recording was playable.
Can't reproduce.
Set a 15 minute regional news broadcast to record using the remote - just as single not a series..
This completed as expected saving a file set in 'Video'
Renamed the file using

added the text "error @0:13" (without the quote...
Yes it's possible and probably easier.
Use the FTP server on the HDR (either vsftpd or tinyftp package) and something like filezilla on the PC.
I've had speeds of around 7MBytes/sec (as reported by filezilla) for the HDR to PC transfer.
I think it varies depending in the channel tuned to. If you check on say BBC1HD ( which I think is 7 seconds delayed) then switch to E4Extra (over 1m fast) the time jumps by 80 seconds. Plays a bit of havoc with timed recordings.
Glad you got it sorted, but for what it is worth, even though the on screen file manager does create a .usr directory, I'm unconvinced it is part of the mechanism for the HDR recognizing the file sets.
I've used all flavours of Foxsat custom firmware since mogie's telnet hack.
CF is used daily...
When you ran fixfilepaths did the log show anything untoward such as mismatched file set ?
I'd suggest using filezilla to transfer a small subset of file sets from the 400GB backup to the HDR.
Preferably choose some file sets that you backed up with filezilla and some with ext2explore.
Use...
MikeSh - thanks. I got 'Recording Failed:unable to track programme' on the T2 for The Wall, which I think means the AR programme start signal never came.
The test recordings this morning on C4, E4 and More4 using Foxsat and T2 all appear to have worked, except the first one set which was...
I'm not convinced it is working properly. A test recording last night on More4 didn't record on the Foxsat.
Neither did a scheduled recording on the T2 for the Walter presents The Wall cover Your Tracks which is odd.
A further test recording on the Foxsat failed this morning.
Just trying some...
I'm glass-half-full on this.
The channel 4 EPG is now populated up to and including House of Craft at 05:55 on Thursday March 2nd, so I'm counting 7 days worth.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the most forward it would reveal was The Simpsons on Saturday Feb 25th at 05:55 which was 3 days worth.
That's a...
Black Hole,
It is not unknown on Freesat and usually gets corrected at some point.
sine24,
I was unclear, sorry.
Thanks for confirming it is not just me.
Cheers.
