Try "vim /tmp/scanmounts.log" (and install the vim package if you haven't already - ":q" to quit) - or you could copy the file to a folder where you can access it from a PC and load it into any text editor. Also if you reboot the log will be shorter and you should see the earlier stuff. You may...
Just found a bug that would prevent it retrying if mount failed, but the ping was successful. It will retry after you reboot or manually delete the share folder from /media/. This may cause a problem when you are mid way through configuring the settings folders. Will fix in the next update...
I'll make it so the mounts are available as folders in "My Videos" as well on the HDR (or the HD you can just navigate up from the Videos folder), so it can work without plugging in a drive.
I think "folder=video" should be the one. I found I had to set the "domain" as well but that might just be my PC setup. Maybe "workgroup" might need setting instead if you're not using a domain. Otherwise it all looks good.
You can look at the output log by running "cat /tmp/scanmounts.log" from...
Only the opt+ copy method of decrypting works so its pretty hard to automate :( It might be useful to make a script that at least puts all the files that need decrypting in one place so they can be copied/decrypted in one go...
The actual settings live in in "/mod/settings", and the "*ModSettings" is just a link to them, so you could rename it, but I think the script will recreate "*ModSettings" again next boot if it has gone. I could easily change it to only do it on installation though. I put the "*" in front partly...
Added a first stab at a "beginner's guide" to the first post.
Has anyone been able to get up and running with this yet? I don't have an HDR so would be interested to hear peoples experiences with that. One problem that has just occurred to me: I mount the shares as "drives" rather than folders...
As promised I've (eventually) got round to releasing the script discussed here as a package. Hopefully does what it says on the tin which is:
"Automatic mounting of remote nfs or smb directories, with configuration on the box, using special "settings" directorys to add and configure shares...
hmm - no /usr/bin/humaxtv in the process list by the look of it.
Might get a clue from trying to run it directly at this point (type "/usr/bin/humaxtv") and see what happens...
Very strange - I've just moved to 1.16 and tested it and all was fine. Are you on bootHDR 1.1? I have seen something that sounds like what you're reporting, but only a couple of times out of 10s of reboots since moving to 1.15 (including the 1st time after upgrading so I thought it was broke for...
Also now running XBMC - http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/571
I'm going for one of these when its released - especially now I've got a taste for mucking about with linux from the HD :) Also its got composite out for us luddites with CRTs...
