Thanks to all for their helpful advice. Have now managed to copy the files onto the Foxsat HDD, this is how I did it.
I didn't fancy learning/installing Linux Mint (too old a dog for that new trick!), so persevered with DiskGenius.
I discovered that when a folder is made by Foxsat (Media/File...
Hi Luke, I tried Dino's advice. Whilst the Webif rename changed the filename as seen from the PC, it was unchanged when viewed in Media! Surely the filename showing in Media should change too?
I also ran the fixfilespath utility, but that didn't make them visible either. (This has worked...
Black Hole, Yes, I copied the hmt/ts/nts files. They are showing under DiskGenius, but not on the Foxsat. I'm thinking of deleting them, make the new folders in Foxsat/File Manager/Function /Make Folder(s), then copying the files into those folders.
Forgot to mention that I have also run the fixfilepaths utility from FW v4.1.3, as that has previously sorted out files that I copied using FileZilla. That didn't make them available either.
Hi, wonder if any Linux/Humax gurus out there can help?
I recently replaced the drive in my Foxsat-HDR as it was failing. I put a 2TB drive in, and successfully started recording programmes (ie I see them, and they can be played back).
Off the old drive, I had copied off all the recordings I...
A quick update, and thanks again to all who helped me.
Ordered the ST2000VM003 Pipeline (new stock on Amazon, £27), stuck it in a docking station, partitioned as 4 EXT3 partitions (using EASEUS Partition Master), removed old drive, put in new drive, started the Foxsat and now have 1.72TB...
I had noticed the 340 days too in the report (I bought it second hand 18 months ago), so what you've spotted makes sense. I had presumed that it contained the original Humax 1TB disk it was built with, but obviously that is not the case.
I'm currently using the 320MB Foxsat, whilst copying...
FW v4.1.3 is installed. Web Interface v2.91. Telnet is installed in Package Management. I have found and installed smartctl. (Reading suggests this is software to check HDD for faults)
Sorry but I have no idea how to "Telnet to the box"
Thanks guys.
My thoughts were along the same lines, ie file system related (either software and/or hardware). The custom FW is installed, what tests could I run?
This is a fault that I have never experienced before, and I must have pressed Media straight after booting up many, many times.
Wonder if anyone has seen anything like this before? And what caused it/solved it?
Yesterday, I watched a recording on my Foxsat-HDR - worked perfectly. Then, a short while later, pressed Media to watch another recording - no recordings were listed! It did show HDD was 69% full. Exiting...
Thanks again for all your help Dino. That seems to have solved my problem completely, and explained to me why it works. WebIf + Rename, or fixfilepaths both did the job.
With reference to using FTP to send the files from AV2HDR, it seems very slow (75 mins for 4Gb), and FileZilla was quicker...
Thanks Dino for the explanation, that seems to make sense. Don't know why I didn't think to FTP them from AV2HDR, but I will certainly give that a go.
I've also installed fixfilepaths (would you set it to Auto so it runs all the time)?
Now to try with Jaws2...
Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me with this issue.
I have a film on dvd that I want to play on my HDR (let's say it's Jaws as that's a short title to type!) I used AnyDVD to rip to the computer's hard drive, then joined the sections (*.VOB) together using Bandicut. I then ran the new...
