Winter hill is not far from Emley Moor which is going through DSO right now so it may be that you were receiving transmissions from there or another transmitter which has changed its output.
The recorded content is just a dump of the broadcast stream as far as i know so the problem is either at broadcast (not the case because it's fine on the Humax) or in the player (in this case VLC). I think the issue in your case the delay is in the processing of the audio as it passes extra...
Good for me with FTTC, should download mega-fast! In terms of the UI, I meant more in the control of the stream, ff and rw are hopeless. With an MP4 file it should be a lot better. With a fast connection you could have it down in a couple of minutes and then save it. Also we quite often don't...
VLC Linux worked for me the other day with DLNA and HD content. You just use the media browser and look under UPNP devices. You should see the Humax there and be able to browse the content. Maybe the Windows version does not support this?
Does it only download as you watch it or does it buffer? I wonder if with a fast connection you could just fire up the program, wait a few mins and then the program will be all there. The navigation on Iplayer is horrendous so would be nicer using it this way.
Just trying it out at the moment. Good work. I can now stream anything to VLC. I'm just testing the download button but some items I try give the following error:
Error 500: Internal Server Error
CGI program sent malformed HTTP headers: []
Doesn't seem to be a pattern, I thought it was items...
I can't remember the options in the list but sometimes you need to choose WPA(2)-TKIP so give that a try if it's there. It's definitely not WEP so you can rule out any that say that. Also you sometimes need to press a button on the router or use it's web interface to "allow" devices, this...
We had a popup yesterday about rescanning in August, this is to do with the analogue switch off I think, I guess the item in the schedule is related to this.
Sounds great. Maybe you could flag new packages/scripts as beta so that people know which items are not as well tested. The could then be promoted if feedback is good? Thanks
It's easier and less daunting than flashing Android, very little risk as I understand it (can reflash if something goes wrong). I would recommend giving it a go. It does require a bit of command-line/linux knowledge at the moment though.
af123, maybe the instructions can be put on a wiki which...
I believe the HD content is sent protected with DTCP-IP which I guess is not the same as the on-disk encryption. I believe any product which supports this should work as a client (not sure many exist though). I guess the box waits for the link to be negotiated and then removes the files...
Great script, works well. I'm going to look at extending it to allow for renamed folders using the details in the series file. If I come up with anything useful I'll post it up of course.
Unbelievably fast response!
Didn't work first time I tried the command but tried resaving it again from Linux specifying LF and then ran it through the dos2unix again and it is now working!
Thanks
