Interesting and good to know. I'll certainly give it a try. I have been experimenting with MCEBuddy and it's Comskip integration with some success but have only done limited testing so far with Movies primarily. Ideally I would like to remove adverts and optionally compress the recordings...
@lc200 It would be nice if DvrOnTime could output a genre element to the series/episode NFO files it generates. I know its not always accurate but it would help for classifying recordings into groups in some cases.
I was also wondering what happens with tuner allocation if you are using another...
They do link to Microsoft which suggests its a Windows issue, see HERE
I made the distinction between Synology and Humax as in explorer directory names are shown as 8.3 on a Synology SMB share in explorer but they are displayed correctly on a SMB share to the HDR for some reason, Which is a...
Thanks that found another 14 directories not yet archived.
I have never understood how the HDR names directories, but it can produce longer directory names than that like "Brainwashed to Kill in Hollywood ", which is one of the directories that ends in a space on my PVR. Maybe its just as...
@bottletop Thanks for the confirmation. One other thing to note I have been archiving off the PVR to Synology for years and have only observed this for recordings archived relatively recently. My older archived recordings do not have this issue, so it looks like something on the PVR started...
Having monitored this for the last few days it appears that I can copy a random amount of files off via SMB and then the PVR shuts down. I don't see anything in the log files to account for this. After starting it back up from the remote then I am then unable to connect via SMB until the Samba...
Yes indeed. No idea why Windows does that for the Synology but not for the PVR.
Agreed. It would be nice to have something on the PVR to strip out any dodgy characters. Mind you I would never have expected a trailing space to do that in the first place...!
@dearleuk As promised I have attached the script I use to file/organise DVROnTime recordings. Hopefully you will find it useful, from the readme...
What does it do?
1. It attempts to categorise recordings as Movies, TV Series or Single Episodes and file them accordingly into 3 main...
This may well apply to other devices as well, but one thing to look out for are subdirectory names ending in a space which the Humax generates on occasions, that do not display correctly when accessed via Windows,. If you remove the space character at the end then they display correctly in...
I think I am experiencing some issues as a side effect from this updated version. With it active I was unable to connect to the PVR from Windows 10. As I had a pressing need to archive some stuff I uninstalled the package, stopped receiving beta versions and switched back to the normal Samba...
Just for the record I applied the 1.0.6 upgrade with no apparent issues with the backed up database being automatically restored and upgraded by the installer. Nice work @lc200 and thanks for the new update. Touch wood still no issues here on my NUC based Windows 10 installation (hardwired)...
Agreed and hopefully @lc200 will get around to improving file naming at some point. In the meantime you might be able to use the script I knocked up, that will add a sortable timestamp to filenames which are not identified as movies or part of a series (no series/episode numbers) and file them...
Modula2 is a nice language. I remember lusting after it back in the day, when I was working primarily in Pascal with the odd bit of C. Unfortunately I never got to use it for anything serious. If you like it, use it I'd say!
That's good to know. Just double checked mine and it's still going strong with no issues and is way more reliable than by T2 boxes, which will probably get decommissioned soon. I have not series linked the Winter Olympics though...
For anyone considering that with a Hybrid LNB, one thing to bear in mind from the Freesat site...
Hybrid LNB’s work with our new 4K Box as well as older Freesat Boxes, letting you record up to four shows at the same time. You will need to ensure that your Box is plugged into the Wideband...
