Once the Humax is set up with SMB, a minor extra hurdle you have to overcome is that Plex server on Windows will only accept media sources as drive letters rather than UNC paths, so you have to map the Humax SMB share to a drive letter in Map Network Drive.
So we need a USB webcam driver then such that a thumbnail can be recorded in the diary of who was sitting on the sofa during each logged programme! Big Brother methinks - there could be trouble ahead!
I already do that. My iPad 3 isn't up to playing HD stuff directly off my HDR without stuttering, but SD is fine. I suspect the new iPad Air might be better, since my wife's iPhone 5 makes a better stab at it and nearly plays properly (having a more powerful processor), and the iPad Air is more...
It can be fixed in the same way, but it may not be advantageous to do so dependent on the nature of the device. Mobile devices are often better left on DHCP because, well, they're mobile (!) and then easily pick up an address off whatever network they're connected to rather than risk an IP...
His Humax IP address is already fixed, but that isn't the issue, it is the client addresses.
I have exactly the same problem. SSH will not connect unless the IP address of the client is in the hosts file. This appears to be reset upon boot and yes you could have a script to recreate it, but...
Couple of graphs showing mine (first) and SWMBO's (second) HDRs with fan setting at 50%. Hers is a newer model with the Advanced format drive, mine is the older 'standard' one. Interesting temperature differences, getting on for 10deg hotter on the newer machine. The 'hump' in the middle of mine...
Same as the model in your example. I think its about 9 months old, can't check properly until I get home.
>>> Beginning diagnostic 4kalign
Running: 4kalign
--> This is an Advanced Format (AF) drive.
Model Number: ST1000VM002-1CT162

We have 2 HDRs, but I can't vote twice :-(
Have voted with the standard 1TB drive (about 2 years old), but also have an advanced 1TB properly aligned too (about 9 months old).
.... and we shift hundreds of GBs of media file data at work every day over gigabit connections using all manner of cable standards and lengths (Cat 5, 5E, 6).
I checked the log, and it says it couldn't delete it because the directory wasn't empty - possibly a .series file left there?
You'll see I edited my previous post, but you responded before I sent it, regarding the possibility of .autodedup (and maybe even .autodecrypt whilst I think about it)...
Brilliant, thanks af123.
Just tried it on a test folder, and it moved the programme within it as required. The only thing it didn't do was to then delete the empty series folder that was left at the top level afterwards, otherwise just the job. :)
Would it also be possible when the new...
Series Filer would almost work, but I believe it needs a degree of manual intervention to 'learn' what to move, based on the user doing the first folder move themselves. Have never used it, but this was always my understanding of how it worked.
Make that three ! A slight variation on this would be useful to me, if possible..
We have two HDR's, and the kids record a lot of stuff on SWMBO's machine, mostly as series. I have made a folder under My Video called 'Kids' and then subfolders appear under that (via the script described below)...
No, you're right. External port 22 is being blocked since there is no entry for it in the 'External Start Port' column, port 9322 is being forwarded (and simultaneously mapped to internal 22). This is a good thing for increased security, since you are intentionally using the more obscure port...
