I generally only need this for some of the dramas, which tend to be the things with sometimes complex or convoluted plots. One time I definitely can't use it is when subtitling is live (News etc.) and the words are building one by one. I find not only the 'building' element of this visually...
In my case I don’t mean anything to do with mumbling, I mean that I can actually follow the plot better from reading it even if the speech is perfectly intelligible.

The TV has no decent Smart TV features (too old), no built in iPlayer etc, so reliant on external devices for such services.
That's exactly the point. The amp is designed to be the 'hub' of the system, and everything passes through it making switching simpler (especially if you don't have something like a Harmony remote to do the heavy lifting). You can also benefit from on-screen amp menus when you need them if you...
I can add a third group (which includes myself)....
3) people who sometimes struggle to follow and retain complex plots unless they can read it rather than just hear it.
humax# rm -r "/media/My Video/"
Surely that's going to delete the empty 'My Video' folder itself as well, which isn't what you want? You just want everything inside My Video removed with a wild-card on the end
humax# rm -r "/media/My Video/*"
Absolutely - that's how we learn isn't it? Where's the challenge in popping down to Argos and buying a timeswitch when you can craft a beautiful piece of code instead?!
I was going to suggest knocking something simple up in Python using the 'requests' package to periodically try and connect to...
I don't have a Synology NAS myself, but a bit of reading shows that NFS folders actually possibly mount under a 'volume1' path, so you might want to try editing your folder as follows
folder=volume1/video
Note here also that 'video' is all lower case
host=ip address of the NAS 192_168_1_116
Is this line literally like that? It should only have the IP address in it
host=192_168_1_116
NFS has no authentication, so username and password parameters are not required.
..and its 'Synology', not 'Syntology' :)
The answer to that is to use the renumber package and have BBC1 HD set as channel 1, and BBC1 SD as channel 1001. Then, assuming 1001 is the highest numbered channel, when you want to switch it’s simply a one button push of channel down or up depending which way you're going. I’m sure that’s not...
BGA - ball grid array

The chip connections are underneath the package, rather than round the sides, allowing greater connection density. Downside is that they can be very difficult to troubleshoot since you can't get scope probes on them, and if...
I'm having an issue getting this to work at the moment. Changed email address via the webif and got an email straight away saying what the initial password was set to, however it doesn't actually work when I try and log in. In fact the password in the email is slightly ambiguous, as it is a five...
Indeed. Dedup will attempt to rename the file to the content of the synopsis entry up to an initial colon character, as this will typically be the episode title of a series. In the absence of the colon it will take up to (I believe) the first 40 characters of the synopsis, which looks like what...
Just to be clear, this is not a 'splitter', despite being stated as such in the description. It is a simple switch - only one of of the ports labelled '1' and '2' is ever connected to the port on the other end at once - the other is completely electrically disconnected, so the 'other hummy...
