Well, I "factory reset" and reformatted my hard drive. The disk is now slightly less noisy, but I guess that could just be because my disk is now 25% used (rather than 80%).
A couple of questions/observations though.
1. After reformatting my 1Tb disk (via the Humax menu), it showed up as...
I'm sure that this used to work for me, but now I'm getting:
"No plugin available to display this content"
I'm using chrome. Doesn't work in IE either.
Hi
I'm just about to reset my HDR T2 (to try to solve a noisy hard disk problem). I'm currently running 1.02.20 with the Custom Firmware 2.12 and I use the remote scheduler. My plan is:
Copy all recordings to PC using Filezilla
Factory reset/reformat
install latest 1.02.28 firmware (is this...
Interesting. They told me that they would need to send mine away, which meant I'd be without it for several weeks. I decided I'd rather live with the odd disk related issue. Maybe I'll reconsider now!
Same here. Fortunately we record Friday Night Dinner immediately after Homeland. The end of Homeland was on the beginning of Friday Night Dinner. More luck than judgement though.
and if there were errors that needed fixing, could that result in lost recordings?
P.S Sorry to be hijacking this thread. Can start a new one if preferred.
Thanks, that's a good idea. I'll do this as soon as I get a chance. So I install the package from the WebIF, and run the command manually from a telnet session?
I've seen this behaviour too. Wish I knew what triggered it, but its happenned a few times. Box won't shutdown from the remote either. To fix it, I:
1. Initiate a shutdown from the remote.
2. telnet onto the box and issue a "reboot" command
When the box comes back up, the "Deleting ... "...
This is what I really want to do!
I went off down the decrypt, convert to mpg, copy mpg to PC route as this is what I used to do with my Topfield. The converted mpg file ended up on my Linkstation, streamed back to the telly via Twonky. This was how I used to reclaim space from the Topfield...
However, having played around with this, I think the [network-shares-automount] package sounds like a much better way to go! I will get reading that thread.
I've used the WebIF decrypt option, installed ffmpeg, and used the "Convert to MPG" option. I should be able to ftp the resulting mpg file to my PC and play it as normal I think?
ah, ok thanks. I'm using Chrome, and its the VLC plugin that's causing this behaviour. if I disable it, the file will download, but I can't play any files through the webif. oh well, not to worry, I'll use ftp to download.
Hi
I have used the WebIF "decrypt" option followed the "Extract To mpg" to generate an mpg file. When I use the "download" option on the mpg file, it plays rather than downloads.
I can use an FTP client to copy the file over, but is there something I'm doing wrong in the WebIf to download...
