  Are you on the latest level of Firmware (1.03.12) on the Hummy? If so then the Hummy can format a 2TB disk from the standard Menu. Would this not be the better option than trying to format it manually?

  Are you sure you don't mean disable_dso, this is the one that prevents retuning and hence wiping of the schedule. Disable_ota prevents automatic firmware update. This effectively ends up removing custom firmware, but does NOT wipe your schedule. Both are recommended.
