Are you on the latest level of Firmware (1.03.12) on the Hummy?
If so then the Hummy can format a 2TB disk from the standard Menu.
Would this not be the better option than trying to format it manually?
You could use a scart to RF converter on the back of the humax. This would use the humax scart output to send, whatever the humax was playing, as an analogue 625 line picture along the aerial cable. So TG has to be able to handle the old analogue stuff and Hummy must be playing what you want to...
If you are saying that using foxy will allow you to decrypt the files on your PC (which is how you comment seems to read), then I believe you have misinterpreted something.
Using foxy only tells the Hummy that the recording is available for decryption.
The Specific Hummy is the only box that can...
Sling box generates IR signals to an external IR blaster, placed in front of the device being controlled. So it just appears like a remote control to the device being controlled
True (maps was built into iOS not an app).
I think the reason people are saying that Apple deleted VLC when they updated to iOS 8 is because the update involved rebuilding the system, including reloading the apps.
When doing this from the iCloud (as oppose to iTunes) there is no longer a version...
If you have backed up your iDevice to iTunes whilst VLC for iOS is present, then you can restore it via iTunes.
I have just upgraded both my iPhone and iPad devices and iOS.
In both cases I was able to restore VLC for iOS.
As you say it has disappeared from my App Store inventory, so I can't...
I suspect that the sequence is dictated by the client, not the server. So I suggest you look around to see if there are any sequence options in the Pioneer client.

I know that they moved me from BTYahoo about a month ago.
If it's that important you might consider a dual drive server (e.g. Qnap TS-212...).
You can set up drives as RAID1 so that everything is duplicated automatically and can be recovered/rebuilt if one drive fails.
Using this together with the Custom Firmware facilities will give you the resilience...
There is of course the issue of supply.
Neither of the boxes are manufactured anymore and are getting more and more difficult to source.
I doubt that you will get a new HD anywhere and any new HDRs out there seem to be increasing in price.
You can occasionally get a refurb direct from Humax but...
Are you sure you don't mean disable_dso, this is the one that prevents retuning and hence wiping of the schedule.
Disable_ota prevents automatic firmware update. This effectively ends up removing custom firmware, but does NOT wipe your schedule.
Both are recommended.
