Suddenly started crashing on channel 85 (RT) 12th June 2014 - why now?
You haven't by any chance got DHCP turned on on both routers have you? If so, do they have overlapping address ranges by any chance?- HarveyB

Updated to 3.03 (03.03.2015) now getting constant loop crash.
And what do you suggest as the alternative? Ignoring large multi site businesses, even in homes nowadays many of us have visitors with PCs, tablets, phones that want access to our wifi. How else would you manage the constant need to add/remove devices?- HarveyB

Sounds like a double whammy in 7.1 then; app and safari renderer! It's the same app for 7.1 and 8.3 so that's not a surprise, but they must have amended the browser in 8.- HarveyB

Just managed to get YouTube to play your video via safari and text shows up fine. So it looks like it is a YouTube app problem in my case (iOS 8.3). The safari/YouTube "link break" trick can be found here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6983702- HarveyB

Sorry, can't comment on whether its difference between iOS 7 & 8, I can't remember whether 7 did the same or not. From a quick google search it looks like it's been like this since YouTube was cut from iOS itself. Was that when they went from 5 to 6 or 6 to 7 ...- HarveyB

If I try to open a YouTube video in safari it always switches straight to YouTube App. I can't find any obvious way to stop it doing this. If I open it in Chrome or Mercury it plays within the browser itself and displays text perfectly. I'm using an iPad Air 2 on iOS 8.3. EDIT: symptoms are...- HarveyB

I'm not sure but I would guess that fixing the IP address on the device means that it does not trigger the DHCP process on the router so could cause confusion. As you have told the router to allocate a specific address to the device then why not let it do it its job. I personally would switch...- HarveyB

Can you clarify what actions you have taken to get the Humax "bound by the router"? It sounds like you may have set a fixed IP address in the Humax rather than telling the router to always hand out the same address to the Humax. The former approach only works reliably if you fix the address...- HarveyB

HDR freezing up regularly
Your refer to "turn off/wake up at 5:00 and 5:15"! How have you set that up? Wouldn't the standard power on/off timer have problems with that, as it would mean turn on at 5:15 and the off at 5:00 (23hr 45mins later). Does it cope with an off time on the following day? Free (or cheap) software you really love
I use outlook, have done for years, but only switched from pop to IMAP in the last few months. My main reason for outlook is that it gives me the ability to automatically archive older mail to PC local archives. This effectively cuts down on amount of data on BT Mail and hence on other IMAP...- HarveyB

If you are going to use FileZilla to copy from Hummy to Hummy mounted USB I assume you are aware that this is somewhat inefficient since each file has to be read across the network, by FileZilla, and then written back ACROSS the network. Version number on iPad and iPhone is HMIRG-1.0.13. Reference the ratings. Don't forget that the CF makes it more usable and some of the ratings may be from none HDR Fox users- HarveyB

On the HDR fox t2, I think it will only work if you have Custom Firmware package "rc-app-bridge" installed. af123 wrote this specially for that. Oh! And I think you need the DLNA server(share) running on the Hummy.- HarveyB

VLC streamer setup for iPhone
I see there is a new release of VLC for iOS today. It states that, for legal reasons, it no longer supports AC-3, E-AC-3 or MLP codecs. That's a bit of a blow. I seem to remember the same happened to 8Player a couple of years ago. It seems that Dolby are pretty hot on the legal action.- HarveyB
