Interestingly, mine also had a failure on 07/03/15 (at 04:40) according to WebIf.
This would have been at the end of the overnight disable_ota session.
Strange that, box hasn't done this before.
I have just rebooted my Hummy from Webif Diagnostics screen.
This worked fine, however , I notice that the Webif home screen still shows "Last boot reason" as "Remote Control Handset".
Shouldn't it show something like "Webif Diagnostic Trigger". Assuming that it is possible to determine this...
Have you by any chance introduced any new devices on your network recently?
E.g. A network server or something running, say, Twonky server.
There are known instances where certain software on the network can cause the Hummy to keep rebooting.
See if it keeps rebooting if you disconnect the...
Possible good news about VLC for iOS.

I'm not sure if it's sorted properly yet but my iPad and iPhone both show updates to 2.4.1 in the App Store. However when I try to update it says that I am "trying to purchase...
Perhaps the wiki needs expanding a little to explain that dlna_filter will block access to the Hummy DLNA server if the settings parameter is left blank.
But if I read it correctly, it only blocks for the IP address set in the webif settings.
BUT, if there is no address in settings it blocks for all IP addresses.
So that would include the Hummy itself. This effectively prevents clients finding the Hummy server.
As long as you put an IP address in...
No problem as you've sorted it. Our responses crossed.
By the way dlna_filter is only needed when a Twonky Version 7 server is on the network. The latter causes Hummy crashes.
Can you clarify this a little more.
I have DLNA_filter installed and the settings set to exclude one IP I address (though, as yet, there is actually nothing on that address!!!).
I can still see the Hummy DLNA server on the network and I am able to access and play the videos.
Does your statement...
Upnp inspector will not show the files with their original names, it will show them in the form 123.ts. This is the DLNA name for the file internally.
If you go into webif and list your recordings, select a recording name, an info panel pops up giving details of the file. The DLNA number is also...
It's definitely DLNA problem then, ping and webif talk "directly" to the Hummy not to the DLNA server.
So there it must be something to do with DLNA visibility.
Like BH I'm stumped, but clutching at straws ...
Do you by any chance have the CF dlna_filter package installed. I'm not sure if that...
I won't know what version of windows you are running on your PC but if it helps determine whether you can see the Humax DLNA server there are other options:
On my windows 7 PC I can see the Humax DLNA server from:
- if you view Network Devices (key "Network Devices" into search on Start menu...
@martinr, montyseviltwin and BH have answered the question relating to HiDef and DLNA, thanks.
Your response is still slightly awry. Both of the screens you showed relate to processes (webif and IE) which are reading the Hummy hard disk directly.
To see what is presented for DLNA you need to...
Thanks prpr, I have added an edit comment into my incorrect post to refer to your correction.
I wonder if there is a case to add an "UNP" flag to show unprotected but not decrypted. It's a little clearer than the "absence of a flag" to indicate something.
Do you or AF123 have any view on...
Auto_unprotect and decrypt are totally different.
The former only changes a flag (and is indicated by a green "DEC" icon on the Webif file list) this makes the file eligible for decryption and for DLNA transmission. It does not actually decrypt the file.
EDIT: see next post (prpr's) which...
BH, I don't know whether "enc" HiDef recordings are listed as I have always run auto_Unprotect, but I thought that the DLNA server ignored "enc" items.
Does the HD Fox use DLNA to access the HDR? If so then I suppose the server must catalogue the HiDef regardless.
I think you are looking at the wrong DLNA service. MediaTomb is not the standard sharing service on the Hummy, it was used to support the CF function and as a DLNA server when specifically configured bey some enthusiasts.
To use the normal Hummy DLNA service you need to turn on Data Sharing...
Thanks BH, but won't DLNA indexing pick up the Foxy'd file anyway, given a little time, without the need to move the TS file about.
I know there is a CF Diagnostics option to force DLNA to rebuild the index. Perhaps the OP might consider this as an option. Is there a command equivalent that he...
But you need to take care using FTP, the humax copy functions and the CF ones move the full file set (TS, HMT, ...) FTP won't.
Also, I think you will find that running FTP copy from a PC will read the file from the humax, across the network, to the PC and the write it back to the Humax. I don't...
