But it did do something, it fixed the problem! it only reappeared after I used fix-flash-packages. I simply tried both methods in case the pc wasnt communicating with the humax box as they're in different rooms so i didn't know if it had rebooted or not.
You're right though, I know nothing of...
Hmmm I see where you're coming from but is there no link between the problem being solved, by the flush, and then beginning again after i'd used the fix-flash-packages?
If I hadn't done that then it seemed like it was sorted. it was only when I wanted to force the schedule restore that the...
Update :
It's not fixed at all! I tried to have a go myself by using fix-flash-packages.
I came back from the shops and it's done the cycle of boots/green screen/boots/green screen/sleep again. So I assume it's reset what the system flush undid?
However, upon repeating the restore schedule it...
I'm sure this message will mean something to those in the know?

Well I finally got around to using the system flush and it seems to have done the trick thanks.
After it had done it's magic I had to do a rescan for channels, and then assumed the auto schedule restore would kick in and do it's stuff.
However the restore schedule isn't working. I have tried 3...
sorry to resurrect this old thread.
after the brief hiccup last month the unit has started cycling through the start up screen since sunday. it does two sets of humax logo/humax logo/green screen, then it makes the HD start up noise before going back to sleep. the next time it boots up just...
haha well i did do the putty thing. it seems to have identified and isolated the problem area ( i have no idea what i am saying there BTW) , and all appears well this morning. overnight test recordings worked and it's back to it's normal operating times.
the opening of the unit looks well...
i ploughed on using putty. it's found and fixed a bad block so far and is now off searching for an inode!! these are all new things to me remember! apologies again!
I apologise for not reading the entire database instead then!
where should i look next for a system check? i seem to remember using putty or something to do a disk check? i'll have a look and refresh this from time to time so see if any of you have a time saving fix for me.
cheers
might have been a false alarm that! it works again but is very very slow. i deleted the programme that i had tried to watch in case it was something dodgy there. then had a look through the EPG and my recordings. pressed play on another and it took a full ten seconds to begin playing. then...
Hello everyone
For the first time in ages I'm having some trouble.
I switched on and tried to watch a recording, however the unit "hung" as we have all experienced from time to time. Did the usual off/on at the rear however this time it switched on, said START SYSTEM and then CUST FW 3.02 (sorry...
oh I see, many apologies for my posts. it's been so long and so stable that I've not had to use anything for almost six years.
i did go back into the other posts to try to delete them but could only edit?
I merely replied to the thread that had the answer from luke, and sorry again for...
I rescanned the hd channels manually, this time I was only given the option to choose Yorkshire post scan.
I've switched off and on, and all seems to have stayed where it's meant to be!
cheers for your advice luke!
scheduled the reboot and nothing has changed. Will it automatically scan channels, or is that only when freeview next fiddle with stuff?
I assume I'll need to retune manually, but don't see the relevance of removing Yorkshire on tunefix?
excuse my apparent stupidity!
