Update
I've found a solution to to my question and it arrived with the purchase of my new Samsung Galaxy S5 phone
The S5 is compatible with MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) and I just needed to buy a MHL cable off Amazon for about £7
For those of you that don't know what it is, it is...
The problem I've found with DNLA is that the list of supported video formats can be very limited and I don't want to buy something that I end up having to convert all my files
I used to use a laptop until it died and then I bought the HDR
I was hoping I could find something that would have...
My HDR is working perfectly at the moment, but I'm starting to think about what happens when it eventually dies as they are no longer available to replace
I have the CF installed and my killer feature is the 'network-shares-automount' that connects to my NAS to stream all the content through...
This is the section that seemed to cause the problem with me and after removing any entries with this it worked OK afterwards
Make a backup first though
Nice one @prpr, that appears to have worked
It did give me a bit of a scare when I tried to install the new-portal - see the last line of code
But when I went in to the Updates tab of Package Management, there was an update for 'pkg_parse_from_stream_nomalloc'
So all working as intended...
Here it is for you to look at and comment
Package: sqlite3
Version: 3.7.6-1
Depends: ncurses, libreadline
Provides:
Status: install user installed
Architecture: mipsel
Installed-Time: 1399412930
Package: mongoose
Version: 3.0.11
Provides:
Status: install user installed
Architecture: mipsel...
This is what I got
The first didn't appear to do anything
On the second one, I did the "reboot after install"
Humax HDR-Fox T2 (humax) 1.03.12/3.00
humax# ls /mod/var/opkg/ -lR|grep portal
humax# grep -r "portal" /mod/var/opkg/
/mod/var/opkg/base:Package: custom-portal...
Sorry, typo in the post with the missing 's'
'didn't work' meant that I ran remove_portals and then tried to install new-portal again, but it 'didn't work', as in it didn't install the new-portal
When the remove_portals is run I get this
I've run the telnet and I get this
Thanks for the link but running the remove_portal diagnostic didn't work
Also tried the 'Force re-install' of the new-portal, but I get the same message
I'm trying to install the New Custom Portal but I get a message saying "Cannot install package new-portal."
I am current running with
Humax Version 1.03.12
Custom Firmware 3.00 build 2137
WebIf Version 1.0.17-1
Both portal_xtra1 and custom-portal are not installed
This is what it used to do, but following this method does not work any more for some reason
When the HDR goes in to stand by, it reverts back to the default 'TV' channel group when it is brought out of standby
It stopped working about 2 weeks ago
Can I ask a stupid question as I haven't been on here for a while and have probably missed some important threads
I'm currently on version 1.02.20 on a unit that is about 3 1/2 year old with the CF installed and it is running flawlessly
Is there any reason to not upgrade to the latest...
I have a favourite Group of channels set up on my HDR and until a couple of weeks ago, every time I turned it on it would always start up with this Favourite group
Now, however, every time I turn the HDR on, it starts up with the default 'TV' group of channels which includes all the channels I...
Now that the Chromecast is available in the UK, I wonder if it's possible for it to work while plugged in to an HDR's USB socket
This would fill the gap in the catch up and streaming services offered by various TV and Streaming companies that are currently not available on the HDR
Google...
It may have been me who found that deleting a READ/WRITE shared would delete the contents of the share on the computer/NAS )
I was glad I always have a backup of my NAS files.
Because of this, I set up a Read/Write share called DO NOT USE OR DELETE (This share is only ever used by myself and...
Previously, anytime I would use Freemake Video to convert the HD-TS files of my HDR, it always crashed part way through
Today I gave it another go with the latest version 4.1.0.1 and it worked perfectly.
Seems they may have fixed the issue
