Thanks for correcting me, I just wanted to point out that with all the talk of opening ports etc on the router, no one had mentioned the automatic standby when the Humax is in standard configuration, which most probably are when it come to the 'Automatic Power Down'
As Ezra points out, do you...
Something that doesn't seem to be mentioned is the previous posts is that the Humax would need to be out of standby or in standby but recording something for the WebIF to be accessed from the WAN
As the Humax cannot be left on permanently (it automatically goes to standby after about 3 hours) it...
Installed Fix-Disk 0.2 and I'm currently running the long test
I'll report back in a couple of hours when it's finished
Just a quick question:-
Now that the test is running, will it continue to run on the Humax if I close the telnet session and shut down my computer
@xyz123
I've followed your instructions and got this:-
Running /bin/fix-disk
Custom firmware version 2.15
Checking disk sdb
Using superblock 0 on sdb3
Using superblock 0 on sdb1
Using superblock 0 on sdb2
Unmounted /dev/sdb1
Unmounted /dev/sdb2
Unmounted /dev/sdb3
Pending sector...
As FreeMake crashes with HD TS file from the HDR, have you tried using Avidemux without setting any Video or Audio outputs (leave them set to copy), and then set the Output format to something like MP4v2 Muxer - this shouldn't take very long to complete (couple of minutes)
Once the file has...
Woops, sorry Ezra and Black Hole, got myself mixed up a bit - please accept my apologies
Ezra, I'll PM you with the file - what format do you want it in Word (docx) or PDF?
@Green Armchair
Freemake can be iffy with HD recordings
I've experienced the same issues as you with it crashing
As this thread is over a year old, I have since found a stable free program for editing my HD recordings - Avidemux (currently on version 2.6 I believe)
I'm in the process of...
Thanks Ezra
I did try to search the Wiki, but was obviously looking in the wrong place
You may want to add that with my IP Camera the arrow buttons allow the remote to control the pan left/right/up/down functions - it does respond slowly though
You can add me to your list as well
I'm not using a Foscam, but a similar looking one by Storage Options - the model is the SON-IPC1 and is only £47.98 at the moment at scan.co.uk
I was pleasantly surprised that the arrow buttons on the remote control can also control the movement of the...
I don't know if this is possible but I thought I'd ask anyway
Would it be possible for the 'network-shares-automount' to have a configuration option so that the hmi files are read/write but all other files are read only
The reason why I'm asking is because I have my Video folder on the NAS...
@Black Hole
I did say it was a 'long shot'
I don't think it's the drivers, as a 'mass storage device' in Windows, Linux and Apple uses the same drivers for any that are plugged in - it has been a standard specification for a number of years
What it may be, is that the onboard flash memory...
This might be a long shot, but I wonder if the larger USB sticks you have tried need fractionally more power than the Humax USB socket can provide
In the manual it says 5 V 500mA Max - this is the spec for USB 2 devices
Most USB sticks that I have tired only use 100mA each, but larger ones...
@Freefall
Just a quick reminder to you how the shared folders from your DS213 work depending on whether your user (fred) has Read Only or Read/Write access to your DS213
Read Only - if you stop a video before the end and then play it again, you don't get the option to resume from where you...
Sorry, should have clarified my answer
I was looking at @Hadron Collider's second picture, which is a SD file, so I was answering for SD not HD
I must expand on my answer next time ;)
