Well managed to get to view backup file by putting an ftp app on my Nexus (andFTP) and using Astro file manager to view the transferred file. Thanks for the directions pointing me down this path :)
Me too could not view file using web if.
I tried with betaftp and could only see folders for music, pics and video but I have never used ftp before so I am sure it is just a user error! did login as user root though.
Also tried the restore from backup and most of the schedules came up...
I agree the restore utility is great if only I had remembered it necessary after a retune
Now the OH has added some recordings back and added new ones so I am in a bit of a pickle! Is there a way of viewing one of the stored backups so I can check what is missing? I guess my alternative...
Thanks af123 and Ezra, I dont (currently) use any of the mentioned packages. Everything I do use looks fine; largely down to the skillful way in which the cf is integrated with the standard fw I am sure :)
Hi
I have been running on the old firmware with CF, web interface and remote scheduling but I had not blocked the automatic OTA update.
The box upgraded OTA to 1.02.28 and (as expected?) the CF stopped working - at least there was no webif and no telnet. So I wanted to upgrade to the new CF...
Really happy to get my first 'RS Conflict Checker' email today, it's a credit to the RS service that it identifies and notifies about clashes. Without RS notification it wouldn't be until we came to watch something that we would realise there had been a clash, so thanks again to all concerned...
My understanding is that without the certificate the browser will complain, which I could except, and the traffic will not be encrypted anyway so I am no better off than just using port 80. I couldnt find guidance on putting a certificate on the box so I have just accepted the small risk. Happy...
Thanks xyz321, I hadnt done that believing that I would need to have a SSL certificate (like Thawte or GoDaddy). Is it just a case of using the correct https port?
Hi
I have made the settings in my router so that port 81 points to the fixed IP address of my humax (on port 80) within my internal network. I have used port 81 only because I already have a NAS running a webserver (on the standard port 80). I use a free O2 wireless router and followed guidance...
I agree with Basjoe, the benefits to the 1,000s of Hummy owners for the modifications (and supporting documentation and guides) is amazing.
I really appreciate that it has been developed in such a way as to be accessible to those with little to no telnet, linux, unix or whatever(!) skills...
I experienced freezes with the custom firmware and rs when there was no available internet connection but believe that the latest rs version removes this issue. Check the versions of your installs from within the webif and report back?
I use the Humax iplayer and have about 0.8Mbps. In the settings there is a quality option (I think thats what its called). Before I watch something on the iplayer I alter this to normal from high and it works ok - its perfectly watchable on a 42inch screen. If I leave it to default mode it plays...
Right again af123! Going onto CITV at 8pm and there was no pause or rewind available so no disk activity :) . Some good appropriate work arounds from af123 and Black Hole until the webif development is available - Thanks again
Thanks af123 :D, sounds scary when you dig deeper into whats involved.
I had thought of tuning into something like CITV but guessed it would just cache two hours of 'see you back at 6am' instead so thanks (again) for the heads up!
Thanks Black Hole - my concern was for the poor disk writes while it needlessly keeps 2 hours worth of program available (but it's not a feature I want to turn off). As suggested I could move my EPG update earlier to reduce the length of time it was on when I don't want it on - good idea.
Is a...
Thanks to the many contributors I am now starting to enjoy my enhanced Humax HDR with webif, auto unprotect and rs packages installed so far :D
I am starting to use it to stream content (at the moment using VLC on a laptop connected via HDMI to a tv). Is it possible to switch the hummy to...
Been running for a while now with the new rs process and also some powerline av plugs and have not experienced any of the previous pixilation issues - thanks af123
The Raspberry Pi looks great and at an amazing price, I think its a bit too techie for me though  - especially without a case in the first run
Anyone any experience of the Sumvision Nano 1 media center playing hummy files, says it supports media container TS. Available for around £80 -...
I took the plunge with the custom firmware on Friday just putting on custom firmware, then full web interface then remote scheduling.
Shortly after I faced problems watching HD recording of Sherlock Holmes - stuttering of picture and sound. When replaying the same section it played fine. At...
