Right now I am recording X-Factor on ITV 1 at the moment but there is no live output just "the channel is scrambled or not available" on a blank screen. What is happening? Does this have something to do with the encryption key too?
This sounds similar to what happened to my Hummy last night, see http://hummy.tv/forum/threads/is-my-hard-drive-on-the-way-out-blank-new-and-old-recordings-help.4255/. I was so relieved that it wasn't a hard drive failure but concerned about it happening again.
To throw in some facts for...
Thanks for that MontysEvilTwin. It sounds very similar. I switched the Hummy off and on and and I was able to view all my previous recordings but also one I recorded tonight which previously was blank and wouldn't play, but the others were still blank so I guess they've had it according to...
All the programmes I've set to record tonight have recorded but they are all blank with the message "the channel is scrambled or not available" displayed at the start. They won't fast forward but stay on 0.00. Hang on a minute...
At first I thought it was just today's recordings that were...
I don't know if this is the Fox or Freeview/BBC messing around with the channels but last night around midnight I just happened to notice the sound went off whilst on BBC1 and then it came back then went off and then Live at the Apollo started. Shortly afterwards it switched to Rugby which was...
The more I've been thinking about this I've realised that there are other series recordings that have been lost.
All Star Mr. & Mrs. (ITV1)
The Martin Lewis Money Show (ITV1) - this had a postponed episode last week but had disappeared this week
I'm fairly sure Not Going Out (BBC1) had to be...
I must admit I didn't look at the schedule before I re-entered the series recordings again. I was just looking through the EPG on Tuesday and happened to notice that Holby City (BBC1) wasn't set to record and yet The Paradise (BBC1) which is on immediately after was still set up. Dallas on...
Thanks for your replies guys.
No I've got no 800 channels now but did have when I had the Xtra Factor series set up because it was during the digital retune in the second and third week of September but after the second retune they were all gone.
My mistake. It is 1.02.28.
Yes that's...
Yes they just disappeared. I also had Xtra Factor series record set on ITV 2+1 and that disappeared a couple of weeks ago but I wasn't really bothered but now I am as I'm worried it's not a good sign. Unfortunately I do have the latest software version on because I just bought the HDR in June...
This week I noticed Strictly Come Dancing and Who Do You Think You Are had both been lost in series record. SCD had a gap of about 3 weeks and WDYTYA a gap of 1 week. Strangely, I also lost series record on Holby City which had no gaps at all. Is this normal behaviour? They are all on BBC1...
This is odd. I posted this thank you yesterday but it doesn't seem to have appeared on the thread so I'll do it again.
Thanks Martin and Black Hole. That makes it a lot clearer. I get it now! Xyz321, yes I remember that now. That's why I thought the Fox was faulty because after many years with...
Yes this worked fine.
I must admit, I still can't see why it needs to jump to ITV2+1 to record it though. I've never seen that happen before. I wasn't actually watching BBC 1 when it jumped to ITV 2+1 but if I had been it would have spoilt the programme I was watching and I would have...
The Fox was on BBC 1 as always and the recording schedule was:
Casualty 21.09 - 21.59 BBC 1
Jonathan Ross 22.28 - 23.34 ITV 1
Xtra Factor 22.40 - 23.39 ITV2 +1
I'm recording Dragon's Den at the moment so I can't do the test you suggested for another half hour so I'll try it then, thanks.
I've never had my old Hummy 9200 actually change channel before and I've only noticed the Fox doing this in the last three weeks. I've only had the Fox since June and it was a Humax Direct recon so I hope it's not a sign it's got problems.
I don't know if this is just me but I have series record for Xtra Factor on ITV2+1 and for the past 3 weeks I've noticed that the Fox actually changes stations to record it. I always leave it on BBC 1 and yet it changes to ITV2+1 by itself.
We are in the process of digital changeover (Tyne...
