Well if I was the OP I would most definitely have replaced the HDD by now.
He is probably going to have to replace it anyway at some time in the not too distant future, so it makes sense to do so now, at least IMO.
So far the method seems to work, at least for me.
The only quirks I have found so far are, after creating the sidecar files:
- WebIf browse mode shows the file with the shrunk icon against it.
- WebIf can only rename the media file (not the display title). However the display title can be...
For some time I have been frustrated that whenever I edit a .ts file in VideoReDo, re-create the sidecar files with AV2HDR-T2 and copy the results back to the HDR-Fox T2 the subtitles aren't retained. So I have done some investigation and come up with a simple solution which seems to work...
I saw the Richer Sound website showed that a number of their store had stock of the HDR-Fox T2 but when I went to my local branch they told me the website was wrong , that they didn't have any and that the "1" showing on the website was probably a machine that they used to loan out. So it is...
Thanks for the very informative and interesting replies.
After having checked out the links it seems that the main difference is that I am using WMP to get the URL for the video file instead of using "UPnP Inspector". As WMP is 'standard issue', at least on W7, this seems to be an advantage...
Forgive me if I have got hold of the wrong end of the stick but I am a bit confused.
Ezra Pound said that "without the Custom Firmware you must copy to USB, without it your recordings won't play on anything except the Humax they were recorded on"
However I have just copied a SD video from my...
I have just got round to getting a HDR-Fox T2 when I see there is a new product, the HDR-2000T. I can get the HDR-Fox T2 for £150 or the new HDR-2000T for around £170.
Are there any drawbacks or benefits with the newer model?
Thanks for the suggestions.
I try to avoid transcoding from one lossy format to another, especially with audio, but I've done some tests out of curiosity.
First I transcoded a mpg file to mp4 using VideoReDo (I already had the software as I am a long time user of VideoReDo). The resulting...
I caught sight of this so thought I would mention that it looks like MPEG-1 Layer I (mp1) audio, which is *really* old. As far as I know, the Standard Def channels use mp2 (MPEG-1 Layer II) with the BBC channels having a bit rate of 256kbps for the mp2, the other channels usually have lower...
Thanks for your help.
I started off looking for a means to stream video files from my PC (e.g. WD TV Live or Boxee Box, etc) but then I happened upon the HDR-Fox T2 and thought it would be an absolutely ideal combination of TV recorder and local network media streamer, with iPlayer access...
I'm looking at buying a HDR-Fox T2 and I have been reading the invaluable threads here but I would very much appreciate some help on a few things.
I have a fair number of mpg files recorded from a Hauppage USB tuner stick, edited and converted from ts to mpg VideoReDo. From reading the forum I...
