I would think that the Humax HDD is not being used for the live buffer so can be accessed for the copy/stream continuously. Allowing the process to run much faster.
People on here have previously reported that the best place to get them is from Humax themselves. I would phone them. 0344 318 8800.
No, I have no problems with interference from mine. Power supplies can go faulty and cause this problem So a replacement would hopefully cure yours.
There have...
Yes, I have just tried.
With the Humax connected via HDMI to a Samsung TV, Humax audio muted and the volume set to maximum on the TV all I get is silence, as expected.
Mine is working OK at the moment. I do manual updating and last updated yesterday.
My package management available upgrades is showing webif, rs and lighttpd
I will not be doing any upgrades yet!:(
If this is a package problem, how would someone who has already done a manual upgrade get back...
I do not record very many ITV 1 programmes but did set Downton Abbey for the last 3 weeks.
After having AR cut off the ends of the first 2 recordings, with the need to watch the ends using ITV player/catch up, I set the most recent episode as a padded recording with 2 minutes before and 10...
Don't skip it! Auction it on Ebay as not working/for parts, you will probably get £20 to £40 for it

I have a plug-in time switch set to go off at 2am and as I do not have any recordings set during the day, Monday to Friday, come on again at 5pm. On at !pm weekends.
I believe that as the unit is in standby the stress at off time should be minimal. I have...
I have it set for full power saving in standby. It would be in standby and not recording at that time, so unless it has woken itself for any checks it should be OK ?
I have never had any problem with missed recordings or HDD corruption.
I have mine on a plug-in digital timer with it set to go off and on again every day of the week, off at 2am and on again at 5pm. If I want to record anything between those times (unusual apart from the odd recording at weekends) I set a separate timer, or modify the original.
I think that it...
Maybe by someone who hasn't owned up to it!
After a year it would take some kind of force/knock to cause it to stop working, or maybe the crack occurred during the post sending in for repair.
Did you inspect the power supply ? You would have been unlikely to miss a crack that is capable of...
You can get them from many suppliers. I can't believe what you can get for such a low price either.
I use mine with 2x 50cm HDMI leads.
I haven't had a problem with my Humax HDMI connection, but for those who want to try it and see if it helps - from here for £1.98.
Mine took 2 weeks to arrive...
