Crashing is rare (with the current firmware I have never had one) and implies there is something not correct with your unit or setup.
I would suspect a poor freesat transponder signal on one or more of your feeds.
Try a factory reset and then re-check two feeds were detected.
The absence of a vformat key makes this a bit tricky. You can change the output in setup.
The problem occurs only on certain makes and models and is new since the last update which introduced HDMI-CEC support.
Turning off the support on the TV helps except when bring the unit out of standby...
Ezra - there are no servers (At present). The HDR1000/1010S is well locked down - It has what looks like an encrypted filing system on all except one user partition used to hold imported data only.
I rather think we shall not see custom firmware on this unit.
If the promised DLNA server arrives...
The reason why you cannot see your HDR-1000S on your Windows network it does not have a network share and you cannot access your recordings over the network anyway.
It is not possible to connect to your homegroup (Used by MS only I believe).
As yet, there is no DLNA server. It does have a DLNA...
The file is compressed - it needs to be uncompressed first - A recient version of pkzip will do this and there are other tools available.
search for ".rar"
I am well south n the Gers (32800) I would say an 80cm is just right now - However if I was installing new I would be looking for 90-100cm to future proof for the next generation of sats.
