  I don't know how it works, at the end of the day - I did not know they were even symlinks links to be honest. The gui allows you to to make them, so it understandable that I would expect it to work - lol. Faffing about with with the command line is not something I am profitient at. Without...

  I think its sorted its self out. The box froze up so I turned it off and on - and now it askes for a password like it should.

  Ok I have sorted it. The latest version of Pale Moon and firefox browser does not work with the VLC plug in. So don't even bother. Here's what I had to do. 1) download an old version of firefox - turns out you need at least version 40 for this to work and this is an x86 binary. You can download...

  None that would work for this situation, you can create a policy that works for files, but I would want it to ignore a directory and I cant see that option in backup station by qnap.

  No idea m8, all I know is you can do this with the CF. Not sure if you can do it on the box without it. Perhaps if it does not work, make the CF not do able to make a folder outside of My Video ?

  The problem is [as far as I can make out] i would have to create a folder set for each folder in my video. Since these are created from the programme it records, its a huge variable. Its not a problem, I will have to work with what I have. its only a hobby - its just I wanted to automate it...

  So I have scrapped the idea. Just thought it was OK to do because the files were out of the backup range I have set on my NAS thus would not be backed up half way through any conversion.
