Good amount of info.
TBH I only ever noticed it crashing after instlling the CF, for me it seems to be more of a re-boot in the night, with the odd lock up everynow and again.
I awoke to the warning 'some packages have been disabled' error this morning. The crash log just had an entry...
Well thanks for pointing that out.
All I can tell you, is that after using the fixdisk the box formatted the disk anyway and all is good.
If your comment was for the thread - don't quote - as that causes confusion too hence my post telling you I had fixed it.
Better to just clarify IMO.
What I have done is to use the auto decrypt and ftp on the humax, and then use the backup station of qnap to copy the files over my lan. I use the backupstation filters, to remove all the none playable files, and to copy over files that are not already on the NAS or files that have changed...
Its the standard one that came with it. 500GB.
Thats why I found the error a little daft.
After some reading, I managed to format it with the fixdisk command from maintenance mode. I rebooted, and after a while it said from the hummy menu there was no hard drive and to format it, I did so and...
I seem to be having a problem selecting where to post. I have a HDR Fox-T2 with the customised firmware installed. So
Should I post all my questions here :- https://hummy.tv/forum/forums/hdr-fox-t2-freeview-recorder.13/
Or Here :- https://hummy.tv/forum/forums/hd-hdr-fox-t2-customised-firmware.28/
From the Hummy settings I can't format the HDD - error says the hard drive is too big - whatever that means !
Can I format it throught the custom firmware ? and if so how.
Thanks
Ump..
Edit:-
"Update: To summarise the below, the reason the HDD can't be formatted is because of the activity of...
Yeah - I read the thread BH posted. Shame I was looking for - faster - cooler. I might just get a HUGE spinning disk, so It takes years to fill it. I am always having to format it when it gets full. It seems to take ages to delete them one at a time.
Messing around with the EPG, I selected programs to record. I got a warning that there was a conflict, because they are series linked is it possible to select one program [as part of a group] to not record on this occasion, or do I have to cancel the entire block ?
TIA

That sounds about right -must be 7-8 years then. Not sure if its a V1 or V2. I remember it saying on the box that the TV portal would be coming soon, and it was a good year before it arrived, and I was so disapointed with it when it did - lol. I even e-mailed Humax telling them the menu in...
There was a little dirt on the fan, so it has been coming on, but much too late and for not long enough.
My box kept locking up every now and again, its been doing it for years, but today it hit a nerve this pic is what prompted me to investigate.
Fan working, and I have installed the fan package.
edit to clarify: - I have only just installed the fan package - up until today the unit has never been opened, and only the custome firmware installed. So the inside dust is from an unmodified fan setting.
With the fan turned the other way...
Its worth noting that once I opened the unit up, the warning went away and is now running at 41C. Given I have had this unit for perhaps 10 years [I think] and never having been opened, the lack of muck on the fan and in the unit suggests to me the fan is completly useless. Perhaps if I turn...
