Spoke to soon :(
HDR Fox T2 number 1:
Boot-time Parameter Settings - Volume 15, Favourite Group 1 - Favourite 1 Both entries have a great big red X and the volume is at 20 after a reboot.
The Favorite Group is in fact Favourite 1 as it always usually is without the boot-time setting.
HDR FOX...
boot-settings it was :)
These units run so well, I never check to see what af123 has added. Perhaps I should in future.
As a matter of interest, is there any proposal (if it was possible) to use his CF on future upgraded equipment?
I have acquired a Sony Sound Bar for use with my Panasonic TV and this is working fine for the TV. Having set the sound level for the TV, when I turn it on it retains that sound level, needing no intervention.
However, if I change the TV source to a Humax, the sound is far to loud. It has to be...
These are the settings I see when the TV is connected by WiFi. But it is not my network which is 192.168.2.xxx not 192.168.43.150, hence I thought I could use that IP on the HUMAX. It seems I cannot. I always thought an IP address was an IP address no matter whether you connected to it via WiFi...
settings > system > internet setting > configure LAN > configure IP Manual:
IP Address 192.168.43.150
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Gateway Address 192.168.43.150
DNS Address 192.168.43.150
Apply
Network connected
As I typed that I wondered if I should use DCHP instead of manual for DNS
EDIT...
Yes, I was getting a little confused (level of knowledge showing).
Using my smart tv which has WiFi capability I was able to connect to the S8. The connection showed an IP address of 192.168.43.150 (my LAN is 192.168.2.1). I thought, ah, why do I need a dongle? just input that IP, DNS and hey...
I just realised that a mobile hotspot, certainly mine, does not provide an IP address for connections. Instead it uses a name. It's IP address can only be obtained if the S8 is on the LAN.
As the HUMAX uses an IP address, is there any way to input an a name instead of an IP address? Or can the...
I have decided to buy:
Humax Compatible WiFi Dongle , Wireless For HDR-1000S HD-FOX T2 HDR-FOX T2,... (click)
As it has a UK source with full address (not far from me). I will post the result for future reference.
I understand that in forums it often happens that wrong assumptions are made. I usually read all manuals and instructions before I do anything. However, in this case it appeared that Disk Diagnostics offered a 'first check' option as ML suggested.
I hope you now understand that I appreciate all...
That appears to be correct.
I meant the Humax TV Portal but it also includes the BBC iPlayer accessed via my Panasonic smart TV.
The VPN is applied via a RT-AC86U router. Even if I choose a UK VPN server it is still choked off.
Thank you all for the detailed information.
I use a VPN and due to that I am unable to use my Humax to watch or save programs via the Humax Portal.
I have found this page thanks to a post by Black Hole:
WiFi dongle (click)
and
Expensive (click)
I ask if anyone is using a WiFi dongle with the HDR-FOX T2 which they can recommend. I can...
I see. So Black Hole shouts at me because he is annoyed. Hmm.
I wonder why the question about Disk Diagnostics and 'his' web page instructions was so annoying. All I was asking was the relationship between the two. When I posed the question I didn't know which should be used first. I still...
All of it!
I will when I find it!
EDIT: I give up, where is it?
Maybe found it?
System flush appears dramatic in that it clears my settings. I will wait and see what happens and note why it crashes as it may be related to catchup.
Steps for Resolving HDR-FOX Crash/Reboot Issues
Please explain how to obtain and save Disk Information and Attributes tables from the Disk Diagnostics. (Attached)

I cannot see any fixed problem.
Checking the second link given by Black Hole - seems very long and makes me wonder where the diagnostic facilities in the CFW comes in?
EDIT: Having looked there I see maintenance mode can be selected there!
Disk...
I started the disk check as described in the link you gave.
1. Telnet
2. maint
The box rebooted and showed a BBC1 (which I had been watching) frozen screen without the word maintenance being displayed. I reconnected with tenet which showed it was in maintenance mode.
3. fixdisk
This is now...
I have two HDR-FOX T2 and one of them crashes often. It seems slow when using catchup and saving.
Is there a procedure for refreshing the system such as installing the latest official firmware and then the customised firmware?
