There was a new version of the app in the early part of the year (which was a surprise given the lack of development of the actual Aura firmware) . I rarely use the app but when I do it seems adequate for my needs.
Yes the Aura has a DLNA server. As with HDR-FOX T2, HD content is protected by the DTCIP-IP protocol but the Aura has a built in capability to transcode HD recordings so that they can be streamed without DTCP-IP (albeit at a lower resolution).
Your installation hasn't changed in the last 10 years but the signal strength will have increased over that period. Have you considered the possibility of too much amplification?
I think you are posting about a Foxsat and I moved your original message to the Foxsat Custom firmware section of the Forum. Whilst there may be similarities in your problem it may be confusing if you post in this forum.
I think the people who are really unhappy are those who watch a lot of streamed content and/or want to add additional apps (which to be fair was a big selling point for the box). I use streaming a bit but my main usage is simply as a PVR and whilst it certainly isn't perfect it is usable in...
One other possible solution that some users claim fixes the black screen problem is to press the Red Freeview Play button, then right arrow across to the power button symbol on the far right, press OK and select the option to "Restart apps" which will restart the Humax Freeview Play app (and I...
Try putting the box in standby, wait for the disk to stop spinning and turn the mains power off for 30s.
You will only lose the recordings if you have the option to format the hard drive as part of the reset selected.
They aren't terrible but they are a long way from perfect because Humax pulled the plug on the Aura software development too soon. I use an Aura in preference to an HDR-FOX T2 because the subtitles work properly, it has three tuners, it records pretty reliably, the box responds quickly to the...
I certainly had no problem downloading and installing VLC using the Aura.
Correct. I am not aware of a way to transfer recordings onto the Aura hard drive but there may be a way that I haven't found.
Plug in a USB hard drive or memory stick with recordings on, install VLC on the Aura and that will play the recordings provided you have removed the encryption.
I thought it was an interesting problem because it appears that the Humax loses all signal when his transmitter is in use but another TV at the property continues to behave as normal. What is it about the Humax that it makes it more susceptible to the radio transmission?
I find that a very odd attitude. The purpose of the forums is to try and help people. I thought there were some people here (such as Rodders53) who knew a lot more about radio and TV transmission and pointing somebody to a different forum is something I do quite a lot. Why do you consider it...
Try this guide for the basics (NB written for the HDR-FOX T2 so the screen you will see at the end is different on a FOXSAT) : https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Telnet
That is precisely what I did and why I have always thought the SD recordings were not encrypted but Black Hole did not consider that sufficient proof. I have been meaning to take the hard drive out of mine to get that proof but somebody else has done it for me.
