I'm not sure if this could be possible with sweeper or not. One thing I miss on the Toppy is the ability to see how long everything is at a glance. So when we are deciding what to watch a quick glance down the list shows us how long everything is so we can see what will fit in the time we...
I had exactly that scenario at the weekend. I had a 3 way clash and the one I wanted to drop was the middle of a series - I dropped that one because it would be available on iPlayer in HD and the others would not.
As it happens that was also the 3rd program to start so I just left it with...
I double checked for updates and the firmware is up to date. It tells me if one is available every time it turns on anyway, so I was pretty sure.
The 2014 models may be different in this regard - mine is a 2013 model. Panasonic may not even realise that there is a bug, and to be honest it...
For Info in case anyone find this thread in the future: The Panasonic TV reports 1080i in the info, but (on the internal tuner at least) 1080p content causes the 1080i indicator to turn off and makes it looks at though it is not getting a 1080 signal.
I proved that last night when 2 of the 4...
I think I have solved it now. Following MontysEvilTwin's suggestion I turned off the default padding last night. I have set most of my scheduled recordings to have padding in Web-If for now. I set a couple of test AR recordings for this morning and they both started and judging by the file...
I can't remember what the examples were. They were old films and the like - I think all were ITV HD. I didn't look too closely at the quality etc at the time and being old material the quality was degraded in terms of colours and sharpness anyway.
The TV only reports 1080 or not on the info...
I meant the TVs internal tuner not reporting 1080 on some programs on the HD channels. If they never do 720 then do they sometimes not upscale SD content on the HD channel? Of course it could be some quirk in the TV causing it not to report 1080 when it should.
Thanks, I've seen it shows the format in the info, but I haven't had a chance to look at some older programs on ITV etc yet to see how they come up compared to the TV. The TV just gives and indicator for 1080i/p and some some programs on the HD channels I have noticed that it is not there...
I am recording everything in HD that is broadcast in HD (that was why I got the T2). I also assume that the broadcasters should have better upscaling equipment that our consumer boxes and much of what we record from the main channels is now filmed in at least 1080. However, my TV does...
Thanks Black Hole, that is good to know. I have already done the factory reset option. I am more thinking that it could be interference from things like channel renumbering etc which going back to standard and doing a factory reset would illuminate. I just need to find a time when I am free...
I have all sharpening turned off on the TV. That was the second thing I did after turning it on - the first being to change away from 'vibrant' or whatever the mode was
It is possible that the Humax is doing some sharpening on its upscaling and that could be what I am seeing. The...
I think I may know the answer to this from the little I could find searching, but it wasn't completely clear so I just wanted to confirm.
If I have the Humax set to 1080p (or i) then it is upscaling all the SD channels to 1080p (or i). However, I have done a few comparisons and there is a...
OK, I have checked the tuning and all MUXs show the network as London and all the channels tie up with the expected ones from our local repeater so it is certainly all tuned into the same transmitter.
MontysEvilTwin - I do indeed have it set to put in padding as default (as I don't trust it...
I am fairly certain that I can't be tuned to multiple transmitters as no other box (analogue or digital) has ever been able to pick up any other transmitter, but is there an easy way to check the channels it is tuned to to make sure?
I don't think I made myself quite clear on the rest, sorry...
OK, I tried a couple more test recordings last night with AR. One on BBC2 HD and one BBC1 HD. Both around 6 -7pm. Both gave a failed to track.
Currently every recording it makes puts in a bookmark at the approximate starting point wiht arbookmarks. But most AR recordings don't seem to...
Thanks for the comments. I am back from Holiday now and investigating further.
Before I went I turned off auto-shrink, and all the recording while we were away for bookmarks as I expect. That is good. It certainly seems that the ordering of auto-shrink/auto-decrypt is a bit random. I guess...
Thanks for the suggestions. I have done a cold boot and factory reset. I am now getting some AR recordings working.
I am sure I am only tuned to one transmitter as where we are there is no measurable signal from any other transmitter. Just a good signal from the one 1.5 miles away.
I am...
Thanks for the advise, Black Hole. Also thanks for your excellent posting for beginners about AR vs padding as it helped me see how everything worked and how it differs from the Toppy - a brilliant guide.
I am testing with BBC1 HD and BBC2 HD as I figured they should be amongst the most...
Hi,
I have recently got a graded T2 as a way to record HD which my trusted Toppy can't do. So far I am pleasantly surprised though there are some things I am finding backward compared to the Toppy, but many others that are brilliant more advanced than the Toppy.
I very quickly put the...
