Just wondering which basket it would be best to put all the eggs in :-)
Old ANT browser because more is known about it or new Opera browser because it sounds more capable? Or it might not make a difference?
Anyway, good luck! Have fun! :-)

Jumping ahead sumwhat...
Will this be easy to port to the new opera based portal packaged with 1.03.06?
I've heard that the iplayer experience is much improved with the opera browser.

You're correct. If you went away from your favourites now to view all channels you then go back you would either have to make them stick manually as I described above or reboot and let power on do it's thing.

Rember to make the favourites list "stick" in the guide you have to select a channel from said list after changing to it.
Power On package will do this at boot for you now but its easy to forget if you ever did want to view all the channel then go back to the favourites.

You have a new style box so will be safest staying with 1.03.06.
1.03.06 Custom firmware here:

The custom portal doesn't work with the new software but I think everything else is fine.

If a was you I would consider spending a little time setting up a network share so your NAS appears as a drive on your humax. That way files can be transferred within the on-the-box menus no need for a computer.

I agree. ITV player and 4oD would make this box complete for me.
The implementation of iplayer on the humax seems a bit strange to me. It seems to stream mp4s from humax directly via a website hosted abroad? Not sure how it could deal with silverlight/flash for ITV and 4oD?
The new browser...
As I haven't tried installing 1.03.06 then downgrading myself I'm reluctant to give you the all clear. What I can say is the bricked units you highlighted above are what happens when you try to put the old software on a new style box that has slightly different hardware.
You have an old style...
You have also upgraded the standard firmware. As far as I am aware the custom portal does not currently work with the latest standard firmware - if you want that you need...

The EAN for that "HDR-2000T" ( 8809095665383) brings up the good old hdr fox T2. Great price though!
Although barry says this on that other forum....

I went for a hd fox t2 for the bedroom.
Out of interest - how is xbmc on the ouya now? Last time I tried it the video quality wasn't great. Probably been 2 months since I used it tho..
