Tunefix problem
I bow to superior knowledge, however I couldn't repeat the problem on a second HDR with identical set up and concluded that some external force was at work! After deleting the unwanted extra channel 9 (incidentally invisible to Webif) all was well, so it didn't seem worth reporting.- alanofcleeves

This doesn't sound like a problem with Tunefix. I had a similar problem [Rowridge transmitter] when BBC4 HD was moved last time. I had a runaway recording when RTS was being introduced. RTS was enabled at the time the runaway happened. I seem to recall reports of occasional runaways being linked to RTS. After my runaway I disabled RTS and haven't had a recurrence, although of course that proves nothing. The...- alanofcleeves

Blue Planet 2 - an audio puzzle
Pleased it did the trick. I've just taken a look at the audio in Audacity: it appears that centre channel alone carried the commentary which could explain why it was missing for you if VLC treated it as stereo.- alanofcleeves

Blue Planet 2 - an audio puzzle
My copy of Ep1 downloaded to PC plays with commentary in VLC v.2.2.1 (although I've only checked the 1st 3 mins), and does not crash Avidemux (2.6.21). VLC reports 2 mp4a audio streams: 3F2R/LFE plus a visually impaired commentary. Generally I find about one in 50 files will crash Avidemux...- alanofcleeves

Unusual Failure Mode
I have two HDRs, upstairs running 3.10 and downstairs on 3.13. Both wake up at 04:20 'Disable OTA' (do I still need this?). In the morning after clock change 'upstairs' had crashed; blue ring on the facia but not responding to remote or Webif. The blue ring was odd as it hadn't been left on...- alanofcleeves

It is possible I made 2+2=5; the HDR concerned runs a 2Tb Seagate pipeline and lives in a poorly ventilated 'media' cabinet. Agreed, this would certainly be useful. Most things continue to work as normal (for me at least) after a crash / reboot but I worked out from the dramatic change in Sysmon disk temp charts that the 'fan' package is among those disabled. To get it working again seemed to need a full power-off...- alanofcleeves

Thanks for the warning! I haven't seen any reviews that make that complaint but I'll look into what they say. With a direct connection to an IP address the player allows copy / delete / move / rename operations on files. That could pose a risk but I won't be using it for file maintenance...- alanofcleeves

Thanks BH, much appreciated. Some of the options are a bit outside my comfort zone but I will look into changing mappings.xml. From what I can see Mediatomb ignores .ts files as well as .mp4 and .mpg so updates to mappings.xml and Import.js probably would be helpful to others...- alanofcleeves

I'd agree, this sort of thing does happen from time to time. If you're concerned about whether the F1 will be shown there is some comfort that CH4's own website lists Russian GP Qualifying Highlights at 17:30 on Sat 30th.- alanofcleeves

Auto Shrink - a minor issue
The last recording was on 8th April from Radio 4 Extra so I can't check the EPG but I'm fairly sure that the accent was not added by me (all of the individual programs contain it).
