I bow to superior knowledge, however I couldn't repeat the problem on a second HDR with identical set up and concluded that some external force was at work! After deleting the unwanted extra channel 9 (incidentally invisible to Webif) all was well, so it didn't seem worth reporting.
This doesn't sound like a problem with Tunefix.
I had a similar problem [Rowridge transmitter] when BBC4 HD was moved last time. After re-tune + reboot + tunefix changes applied (switching SD and HD numbers) two entries for channel 9 were listed in the HDR GUI. The EPG for one entry was...
I had a runaway recording when RTS was being introduced. RTS was enabled at the time the runaway happened.
I seem to recall reports of occasional runaways being linked to RTS. After my runaway I disabled RTS and haven't had a recurrence, although of course that proves nothing.
The...
Pleased it did the trick.
I've just taken a look at the audio in Audacity: it appears that centre channel alone carried the commentary which could explain why it was missing for you if VLC treated it as stereo.
My copy of Ep1 downloaded to PC plays with commentary in VLC v.2.2.1 (although I've only checked the 1st 3 mins), and does not crash Avidemux (2.6.21).
VLC reports 2 mp4a audio streams: 3F2R/LFE plus a visually impaired commentary.
Generally I find about one in 50 files will crash Avidemux...
I have two HDRs, upstairs running 3.10 and downstairs on 3.13. Both wake up at 04:20 'Disable OTA' (do I still need this?). In the morning after clock change 'upstairs' had crashed; blue ring on the facia but not responding to remote or Webif. The blue ring was odd as it hadn't been left on...
It is possible I made 2+2=5; the HDR concerned runs a 2Tb Seagate pipeline and lives in a poorly ventilated 'media' cabinet. Without the fan package it will reach the 55C point where the 'normal' fan operation steps up. The custom fan plug-in controls this to a stable 42/3 but after a...
Agreed, this would certainly be useful. Most things continue to work as normal (for me at least) after a crash / reboot but I worked out from the dramatic change in Sysmon disk temp charts that the 'fan' package is among those disabled. To get it working again seemed to need a full power-off...
Thanks for the warning! I haven't seen any reviews that make that complaint but I'll look into what they say. With a direct connection to an IP address the player allows copy / delete / move / rename operations on files. That could pose a risk but I won't be using it for file maintenance...
Thanks BH, much appreciated. Some of the options are a bit outside my comfort zone but I will look into changing mappings.xml. From what I can see Mediatomb ignores .ts files as well as .mp4 and .mpg so updates to mappings.xml and Import.js probably would be helpful to others...
Thanks for the advice. I do have samba installed and use it regularly to connect from a PC for downloading - it works brilliantly but the media player doesn't see the HDR other than via DLNA. I may have missed something and will check again - it would be the ideal way.
Incidentally, if I...
Thanks to both for tips and advice. I have a feeling that if Mediatomb can be made to work in the way I want then others might also find it useful.
I did try this method, commenting out the existing 'addVideo' function in 'Import.js' and entering a replacement (taken from advice on the...
Thanks af123. I did see the mvdisks package, and it seems a more elegant solution, but I was put off by reports that it could cause available disk space to be shown incorrectly. If I draw a blank with Mediatomb I will certainly give it a try.
Humax HDR-Fox T2 running CFW 3.03, Webif 1.3.3-3
Please excuse the fumblings of an amateur but I would welcome a little help!
I am trying to use a DLNA-enabled media player (Sumvision Micro 4) to access recordings on a 2Tb USB drive connected to my HDR. The disk has a top-level directory...
There’s a chance you might not need part 1 of your process, even for HD files. Until about a year ago I was able routinely to use Avidemux to do the whole job but suddenly I had problems with audio - completely garbled sound. I traced this to an upgrade of Avidemux (they had made changes to...
I'd agree, this sort of thing does happen from time to time. If you're concerned about whether the F1 will be shown there is some comfort that CH4's own website lists Russian GP Qualifying Highlights at 17:30 on Sat 30th.
The last recording was on 8th April from Radio 4 Extra so I can't check the EPG but I'm fairly sure that the accent was not added by me (all of the individual programs contain it).
I've just checked one of the programmes and I notice also that the accent in the title blocks the WebIf from...
