De-duplicate music library
Many thanks for the suggestion Using name matching it did show me where I had duplicates in different folders but I couldn't work out how to match the two name formats even though that is claimed as one of its features But using content matching it did find 122 duplicates in 11K recordings - I...- MymsMan

How do I prevent 'failed recording has been detected' emails when...
I don't understand why RS would still be issuing clash messages after the scheduled tiime for the recordings. are they series episodes that are now conflicting on next weeks episodes? Failed recording is a different error and email from a recording clash, It is a generated when a solo .hmt...- MymsMan

De-duplicate music library
I don'r know what I did, but it was a long time ago. Strangely both copies of the file have exactly the same time stamp, size, etc so not an accident of duplicate riipping but something later that preserved the time stamps whilst creating duplicates. I also have albumns with no duplicates but...- MymsMan

Somehow my music library has numerous albumns with duplicate entries: nn Track title.mp3 and nn Track title-Artist.mp3 Obviously I would like a quick, easy and cheap solution to get rid of the duplicate entries which apart from file name are identical (sizes, dates, attributes) Any suggestion?- MymsMan

I cant remember if PC was was sold as Win 11 installed, or Win 11 ready and upgraded shortly afterwards In any event PC was bought in 2023 and only installed DvrOnTime on it earlier this year when previous win 10 computer finally gave up.- MymsMan

Replacement remote
I remapped Portal as 'skip to next bookmark' to make it easier to skip the ad-breaks but OPT would be a good alternative. Optimum Solution for Backing-up HDR-Fox T2 Recordings (not CF)?
IF you can achieve 10MBs then a full backup would take about 10.5 hours so just about possible on a daily basis, but I still think it would be better to do a full backup (possibly over several days) and then incremental backups of newer recordings on a daily basis, Somehow you would need...- MymsMan

How many full copies do you need! Once you have made your first full copy it would be faster to make duplicates on another machine - the Humax has a pretty slow USB transfer speed. Obviously some copies should be moved offsite for safety. There is little point in backing up every day recordings...- MymsMan

DLNA indexing video/mp4 as audio/mp4
In my experience VLC is one of the few apps that will play .ts and .m2ts files, will your TV allow you to install VLC as an app BTW the humax recordings are actually m2ts format mislabeled with a .ts suffix. The difference from real ts format is a timestamp in each frame header- MymsMan

The reinstall wizard is an unfortunately frequent occurrence on the humax and merely signifies one of its internal databases has become corrupt. Letting the wizard run and then restoring schedule and favourite channels from backup is all that needs to be done. There is no need to reinstall...- MymsMan
